Two questions... 1) Does anyone fly a command ship with more that 3 warfare links? 2) Do the links work when a ship is cloaked?
Many thanks

1) sometimes 2) you can't have any active modules while cloaked.

1) Damnation all the time. 2) No, but sit at a friendly pos, just outside shields = Win |

What's the cap usage like?
Is it viable to use them while active in battle? Who's the rudest of them all! |

Cap-use is 2.5 cap per second per link, so with 7 its 17.5 cap per second, most command ships should have no trouble running them non-stop. As for in combat, since you need about 5 T2 Co-Processors just to fit 7 links with the 4 command processors needed to run all 7 on a Damnation i doubt you'll want to take it into combat. you have no tank, no weapons nothing.

Vulture set up for 6 links would be useful, and thanks for the answers everyone.

Depends on the gang, files both. for gate camping - claymore, although the range bonus to webber/distrupters dont effect the HICs infipoint havin 37% range for webbers is handy.

Hey guys, I JUST trained infowarfare spec lvl 1 and threw a Electronic SUperiourty module on my Eos, yet, I just realized that it doesnt give a --for example-- 1.2 factor bonus to stuff, but a 1.2% bonus.
That's pathetic, and must be a typo error. It's supposed to be 1.2 or 20% bonus, etc...right?

so are you saying for certain that the bonus is 1.2% per level? I thought it was 2% per level. i.e. 1.02 multiplier Who's the rudest of them all! |

Infowar spec V = 10% boost + WLS V = 15% boost + Mindlink = 22.5% boost There's your effective module. Don't try using ganglinks without skills.

Don't try using ganglinks without a mindlink. Also, don't forget the 5% bonus from Warfare Link Spec (The base skill to get CS).

Half decent cap skills, 3 Cap Rehcragers T2 should, let you run 7 in a command ship holding on about 50% Cap.
fitting 7 is a different ballgame.

Originally by: Occamed a command ship with more that 3 warfare links
In my not-that-much-experience based theory, you
1) For small fleets, run 3 warlinks, with the corresponding ship and mindlink (Skirmish being the most popular)
2) For big fleets run dedicated ship with 6+ mindlinks (as a fleet booster), and do nothing but hide in safespots
Reasonings: - If you run corresponding ship+mindlink combo, you get the most out of those specific three warlinks (23% / 36% if I remember correctly)
- In small gangs, your other contributions (DPS / EW) have significant effect, so no point gimping your ship too much by fitting not-so-optimal links.
- For big fleets (as fleet booster), its more important to keep your ship out of hot areas, and focus on bonus. Since you don't need to do anything else, you can fit cloak (to hide while waiting for combat to start) + as many mindlinks as CPU and Cap allow.
Or in practice, you need to keep several tested fittings (or ships) ready at your base, changing the setups depending on your role.
-Lasse fond of skirmishes
