would love to see this added ... we have portraits and char transfers but no name change ?! would like to be able to buy a char and change his name after purchase

This has been dicsused a number of times. The main problem is that this game relies on repertation. If you can change the name then if you steal etc you can then get way with it completely. After the action you change your name.
If you want the more detailed descussion try doing a search. Eve-search has a better engine.
Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congrated by carebears for the actions. |

He's talking about buying a character and then changing the name. When paying for the character transfer it would be nice to get the option to change the name as some people choose very silly names. I don't see any harm in this, and if someone wanted to transfer chars between his accounts to change names to in turn avoid theft ID then that's his problem.

you could always have a name change history just like employment history - problem solved - would defo like to see this implemented!

I would like to see this happen but ONLY if there is a name change history and the name would show up during search so this function is not used for thieves but only for "estetic" purposes

I agree. A name change history would help solve the reputation issue. Perhaps even if the former name is listed for only a period of one year from change date. People could take it upon themselves to be a watchdog group and document name changes in an archive like a killboard of sorts.
My name gets mistaken for ISK farmers, etc. I'd love to be able to change it now that I know what I know.

I'd definitely like to see the ability to change my character's name. Having a name starting with 'A' sucks.
