Current overload interface is really clumsy, prone to errors and not easily usable. I believe it needs to change. Here is my idea:
Give us a toggle key called Overload key. When this key is pressed down and a module is selected, that modules overload status changes.
Then give us visual indicators. Right now when I overload a module while it is active, I need to wait until the cycle is over, THEN I get an indication that it is overloaded. There is no way to discern if I had accidentaly clicked overheat button or not. Here is how to fix this:
Module working, non overheated: No effects on overheat indicator Module working, Overload will begin with next cycle: Yellow / Gray blinking overheat indicator Module Overloaded: Green light on overheat indicator Module Overloaded, Overload will end next cyce: Yellow / Green blinking overheat indicator
I believe this to be a simple change that will greatly benefit all players and let people use and monitor their overheat status more conveniently. |

Such an idea can only be covered with awesome sauce to make it more awesome.
Of course then it would indeed be so awesome it may cause the universe to end! |

The sad thing is this shouldn't be defined as "awesome". This is how it should have been from the start. Right now I either have to click that tiny band over module icons, or remap every single module's overheat to some convenient button and memorize them, which is even more work.
Please CCP give us a better Overload Interface. |

I like it. It would certainly reduce the chance of missing a click and accidentally overloading a module when trying to activate/deactivate it. (Yes, I am aware that F-keys can be used. Sometimes I just click because I want to, or for mid/low slots because the combo keys are awkward.) |
