My Drake hardly ever NEEDS to tank in lvl 3 missions so I am looking for something which can get thru the missions quicker - i.e higher DPS and more maneouverability. The Drake just targets from such good range the mobs are dead before they get close....very rarely will I have a whole load of ships chasing me so what other ships will do the job - Caldari ships only :)
The passive Drake setup is so common and I see ppl saying I never go below 50% shield so I'd say well sacrifice some of that tank and get more DPS going!
I am just on 10mil SP but still a n00b so be gentle!

Excitement from missions?
An oxymoron some would say but if you increase the dps wouldn't that just increase the amount of mission done but do nothing about the excitement?
If you wanted excitement I would recommend attempting LvL 3's in AF's (harpy, Hawk) or other undersized ships like stealth bombers (manticore).

Well I would agree on the oxymoron staement :)
I suppose I should have said something to make it a bit more challenging...possibly a bit more tactical - but you are right - Missions are not really for that lol. I just wondered what other ships could handle the job but maybe not quite so easily and slowly as the Drake.

You can try a ferox (lol) with medium rails, and kiting stuff with guns. Cross train for a brutix if you like guns, or maybe move down to a caracal for exciting moments! If you have the isk, buy a faction ship and kit it on your own, see how it does.
or keep your drake and buy some pvp frigs... that'll be exciting!

I dare you to try doing level 3s in a Cormorant. Or a gang of Cormorants. If you do, post what happens.

heh - I live in lo-sec and do plenty gang pvp so that's exciting enough - just want missions to not be so much of a grind - just really want to get to lvl 4s and get standings up for a JC then I can be bored but make good money lol

Use a blaster Harpy. I'd say use a blaster Enyo, but you're requiring Caldari only.

Try it with 4x Ballistic Control Systems in lows 
Well, at least 3 anyway. And try an Afterburner on for size too.
Should make things a bit less "boring"... as in, "take shorter".
If you want a thrill, try a blaster Moa, a blaster Harpy or even a rocket Hawk.
An assault-launcher Caracal won't be too bad either.

Turret ship = more fun then any missile boat for mission running, but it's only my opinion.

This. In any case the Harpy is a better blaster ship for pvp and pve than the Enyo.
Med extender, 2 hardeners, afterburner, neutrons, rocket launcher, damage mods/overdrives.
Just burn for close orbit (frigs first) and tear them apart one by one before your shield buffer gets chewed by frig guns and missiles. By the time the frigs are gone the cruisers and bc's don't have a prayer.
