Anyone at CCP ever heard of Playtesting patches first?

Mannington Skank Capitalism Amuck The Second Genesis	Posted - 2008.03.17 13:28:00 - [1] Alright... Ive been playing eve for the last 2 years now. I run 3 accounts on 3 different machines. Sometimes I run dual classic clients on one machine, and one premium client on the 2nd, leaving the 3rd open for other things. All are dual core amd64 3600 cpu with 2 gigs of ram and nvidia geforce 8500gt 512 mb video. All have sound blaster audigy, and all have 2 hard drives. I have seperate installs of EvE for each client i run. All used to run great! Premium content was slower than classic, as expected but I was still getting 50-60 fps undocked w/ premium client, and a ridiculous amount with the older client. Now im getting 10-15 fps less across the board , there is like a 10 second lag on opening any window or jumping or warping (like being in jita no matter what system I am in or no matter how many in local). I used to be able to run 2 clients on any one machine if I needed, now starting up even a 2nd client on any of them nearly locks the machine, I have to alt-tab and end the processes. This is with either premium or classic clients. I dual boot one machine with ubuntu linix and it is having the same lag (horrible lag) as the windows clients. This is completely ridiculous, and if it isnt fixed very shortly I will be taking my $45 bucks a month elsewhere. You would rather add meaningless content and glitz and glitter rather than improve gameplay and performance. This is NOT what I want from EvE. Boost patch my left butt cheek. Every new patch makes game play worse, wtf are you people doing? EvE patch execution is the worst of any MMO I have ever played, and Ive been playing these games since the days Ultima Online first came out(played UO,AC,EQ,AC2,WoW,SWG,AO). And so this isnt a completely negative post (since I know Im prob never gonna get a response anyways - NOTHING IN YOUR LOGS LOL)- for those at ccp who do work hard on EvE and love this game as much as we do, keep on keeping on... to the management who are pushing this crap out in its current state... pls go work somewhere else. At the company where I work, we tend to make sure our product isnt woefully defective before releasing it. You tend to stay in business longer that way. Well at least this patch didnt eat windows again, eh? And thx for not doing the obligatory 'can i have your stuff' post :) Cause you cant. It will go to my corpmates (since im the frickin ceo).

I doubt ANY company can test all of the hardware configurations. This is probably a more limited issue as I am not having any of those problems (I run premium). The overview reset glitch is nasty still though : / (bug reported already :D) EDIT: By limited I don't mean "I DONT HAVE THE ISSUE SO STFU", I just meant it isn't a full on, all client killing bug. Originally by: cal nereus I like it when ships outrun missiles. It adds flavor to my soup. And by soup I mean gaming experience. And by flavor I mean "haha, you use missiles!"
Honor Tank Brutor tribe	Posted - 2008.03.18 17:50:00 - [5] Skank, they definately have someone testing patches. They Just need to fire that team of people and get some that can actually do their job. Can we all say "Please test patches more throughly"? /me shudders to think of the next patch.
