Well, the title says it all. I have a Caracal for L2 missions, and would like a cheap and effective setup. I've been flying a Moa but apparently a Caracal is much easier. Thanks !

Large shield extenders in the mids + your choice, would suggest shield hardners some put a AB on.
what it takes to get it to work in the lows with your skills. Ultimatly you will have 2 Balistic Controls in the low slots.
Then after a hand full of missions look in to the shield hardner rigs. If you shop around they are about 3 mil each. Put on the ones that match the rats you are fighting.

Shield rigs on a Caracal... are you insane, or just have more money than sense?
There's not a L2 mission that you can't tank perfectly well with just T1 shield stuff, no rigs required.
I used:
High - Assault launcher x5 Mid - AB, 2x large extenders, 2x rat specific active hardeners Low - 2x BCS
Use named items if you can find them cheap, but other than the launchers (Malkuth assaults are pretty affordable) it's not really necessary.
All T1, all cheap crap, but I never had any trouble. Hell, most of the time you'll be able to keep almost completely out of the enemies' damage ranges anyway. Don't waste money on rigs and T2 modules for a ship that you'll probably be ditching in favour of something bigger as soon as you can run L2 missions.

It all depends on your milage out of the ship. I have my same origional caracal for lvl 1, 2, and on occasion lvl 3 missions.
It gets put up in the hanger for months at a time. Then I will need it to do low lvl missions for another faction or corp and it comes out to play. Or it is called in to duity for anti Frig work on a friends lvl 4 missions.
I upgrade my ships as I fly them. (I think all med and low slots are tech 2 on my Caracal) It satarted out all T1, then went named, now T2 + rigs.
So no, 3 mil a shield hardner rig is not insane it works very well. I think a CCC or a Purger is too much $$$ for this ship.
Everyone has their own opinion and I was offering mine.
