If I may ask: Is this the only change in this hotfix? I'm really looking forward to fixing the overview moving out of visual screen space and most importantly the seemingly increased number and severity of de-syncs since last patch.
If thats not in this hotfix, any word on a) acknowledging these problems in the first place and if so, b) ETA?
Thanks. --

Or was it a boost?
It was a stealth boost to the Expanded Cargohold I BPO --

Originally by: Krollin Hi,
Can I ask if anything else is being changed, seems odd that a simple BP change is taking so long.....
Just playing devils advocate....
Kro
Also seems odd that a BPO change is among things being located on the client (or so this sounds), considering the clear client->server comms going on when one starts a production job and the general idea of tamper proofing things by putting them on the server. Or that this alone would take 30 mins (not that I care about the extended downtime if it does any good).
But I have stopped wondering. I personally assume there are other fixes included as well. --

Strangely, part of my subconscious WANTS that to happen, so I am forced to quit this fatal addiction and can go play a properly working game again --

Edited by: Cheyenne Shadowborn on 18/03/2008 13:44:41 I'm off to another game whose name I won't mention for fear of getting censored.
A multiplayer online RPG where streaming patches work seamless, where I never ran into a single game breaking bug so far and very few minor ones, where there is no daily downtime and only once in three years I tried to login while it was offlined for maintainance, and where there is no monthly fee.
Its my happy place
I'll check back arround 1600 maybe. --

Sorry to disappoint you, but if CCP WOULD respond, they'd probably tell you that not all issues can be caught on the test server due to it not having the full player load and all. That seems to have been be the standard statement in the past.
Now, I'm sure we both agree a test server that doesn't have the player load of the live server makes it impossible to test some patches, especially a supposedly single number database change for a BPO --

It is free afaik? I used to use Singularity.
Of course I stopped doing so, with having to make copies of my Eve folder virtually every week because it can NEVER pull a new Singularity patch that applies to the present Sissi client state, and because Sissi is utterly pointless to test some things.
Try replicating for example something that needs a fancy ship, like a Nightmare or an officer mod. Sure, you can buy BASIC items on Sissi for 1 ISK but unless you're a school kid that monitors Sissi for the latest database load, then jumps instantly on one of the leftover contracts for said item before they vanish, there's no chance you'll ever get to test anything except market items. --

Originally by: Luh Windan Indeed and I am very aware of that (it is a problem I also have to deal with on my systems. However there are ways around it - none of them perfect I admit. But in this situation and given the problems I would expect to be able to take a snapshot of the live DB and do a dry run first off . This would at least let them get past the issues they had today and Sunday - problems that only show up on full load and also problems that are a result of player need other contingencies
Just for the record, I totally agree with you. I was just being somewhat sarcastic, because there's basically two options: a) they didn't test a basic patch, or b) they have a complex patch which maybe WAS at least hard to test, but they pass it off to us for the last hour or so as a BPO number change. --
