I was talking to someone in game last night and he claimed that it only cost him a few million for his small corp (less than 10 players) to wardec another small cork (less than 10 players). He said that cost was somewhere around 5 million, more if you already have some wars outstanding.
So I looked it up on the knowledgebase and it says that the cost of ANY war is 50 million. Some people had said that it cost 50 million for an ALLIANCE to declare war, but the knowledgebase says ANY war is 50 million.
So what is the cost of a small war, a very small corp versus another very small corp, is it still 50 million or is it based on the size of the corps involved?

The cost to war dec is 2 million base. The cost to actually wage that war is much higher. War is a PvP and hunting is the bulk of the time and it consumes alot of it. Corps at war usually get nothing done in terms of making ISK so the funds dry up. But the face value of war is 2 million. |

I'd like to state for the record CCP that your information available on this subject matter is TERRIBLE.
It's not only unclear, but completely contradictory. The best answer there is can be found buried in patch notes, and even then it's not perfectly clear.
Base war cost to dec a corp is 2m isk. 50m to dec an alliance.
There is a multiplier on top of this for each additional corp involved at either end of the war. someway somehow... not sure exactly what.
There may also be a multiplier applied to each week of war... first week is 2m, second week is 4m. However, again, it's not clear at all.
Improving the knowledge base on this would be greatly appreciated.

It used to be a flat 2 mill to 'dec a corporation, and 50 mill to 'dec an alliance.
Now it varies, based on how many wars you have active and how many the target has active.
Don't know if Mutual wars are included in that count, though. |

There, fixed that for ya.
All they need to do is setup a wiki server with GM/ISD/Dev moderation and and let us know-it-alls fill it out for them. It would take mere days at most for an official, CCP sanctioned wiki to get filled out by the playerbase.
But I've just about given up trying to figure out why CCP doesn't fix the most obvious problems and instead would rather add female corpses.
