Edited by: jimbojombo on 20/03/2008 00:59:10 This is a little report on FDN from the inside.. It reflects my view of the alliance i joined and left..
I joined the corp called Universal Export which was mostly a great corp.. Got a good welcome and felt like it could be a good home for a industrial pilot.. An excellent ceo and a very helpful member base..
But then after a quiet day in corp chat i started to look at the alliance chat.. This is when my rather short career in FDN went downhills..
As an adult man with old fashion views like respect your opponent so you dont underestimate and dont backstab teammates i felt i was in the wrong place after 3 minutes..
The chat was filled with bad comments towards own members but i was a new guy and thought it was probably someone that really made them upset and let it slip past without comments.. But this was the daily scenario in FDN..Name and Shame is the golden rule and no one is better than a FDN..
But when they engaged a rather unpopular pilot in their eyes (Ugluuk) from BYDI with Hyperion,Dominix and Scorpion against his typhoon it struck me like lightning what alliance i had come too.. They fought him for 5 minutes before getting more reinforcements, a total of 8vs1.. They killed him in the end but lost a bs in the process.. Not a success but they removed a enemy from space which is good..They were cheering for killing him and at the same time the guy who died got the name and shame even tho he came first to help his mate that almost died..No thank you or good job for him..Just questions on how it was possible to be so noob.. So i came with a comment on how chest beating was not in place for such a bad tactic performance..They afterall lost a bs in 1vs8..
I was probably the first that said something like that because the pvp side of FDN got furious..I just had to shut up and dont say a word +++ was some comments i got besides personal attacks..
THey were owning BYDI and didn`t want to hear anything else..Even tho their 29% efficiency said something else..I also linked it for them to show them what their own kb said..So what did they do? They found out that 4 capitals they killed was a blue corp to BYDI..A few clicks on the killboard and their efficiency was 70% by adding them to the war campaign.. At this time i was no popular member in FDN because i took up some thoughts about stopping the capital hot drops and work on fighting guerilla tactics..
While we discussed day in and day out the war efficicency went further and further down and they decided to stop the campaing vs BYDI before it got too bad..
So what did they do? They added them on the -V- campaigin instead with 0 kills and when i went in took look again now after a few weeks the FDN ego had been out there again..
In their new campaign vs BYDI they had 2,95% efficiency and got totally smashed on the tactics they came with.. So what does FDN do? They remove BYDI from the campaign and suddenly their stats aint that bad again.. It might work in the short run but people will notice how you cheat with the campaings too look good on the paper and you certainly dont learn from it.. There is a long way to go for FDN as to becoming a honorable alliance..
I just would like to end this with saying:
Dont join FDN if you got opinions to share that is negative to the alliance.. Show your colgate smile, say yes and tell them how they raaaaaawk!! I did a mistake by joining them, dont do the same..
I wanted to go to America but ended up in Cuba..
Best regards JJ

That was some good reading..
I am with you on most you say but there is also something i disagree with you in.. The name and shame that FDN does is not something the whole alliance is together on.. It is a very small group that verbally assault the braver souls that loose 1vs1 fights or get ganked solo.. That little group should not reflect the alliance as a whole..
But when it comes to statistics they are indeed manipulating the campaigns to go in favour of themselfes.. I contacted them and asked why they added people that we had a few kills together with on the war campaign vs BYDI and the answer was: Because they are allies of yours.. We killed 20 Volition Cult in combined FDN gangs but that wasn`t the same as they only teamed up now and then..
Even tho they fixed the stats it went down towards 50% again and i was waiting for it to get closed..As an excuse i got told that we were now seen as allies of -V- instead and therefore moved over to their campaign.. We continued with our roaming tactics to avoid capitals and the campaign against -V- looked bad with us on it after they dropped under 3% efficiency vs BYDI.. So i find it funny that they now deleted us from the campaign again to fix the standings..
If that`s what makes the day go around for em then be my guest.. Good luck on whatever you choose to do in the future Jimbo and it is brave to stand up against a dictatorship..

You can never take one solo killboard at face value. When making judgements you always have to remember to look at the opponent's killboard of the events too. The truth will lie somewhere in between.

You call yourself a "survivor", when in reality all you've done is confirm that you can't hack it in a 0.0 alliance. Your opinion's based on what, 1-2 days membership and discussion after one fight? Perhaps if you'd spent some serious time in some gangs you might have a different view.
Best of luck finding a corp and alliance that hugs and kisses 24/7!

Edited by: Asuka Smith on 20/03/2008 05:58:21 I only look at the kills on a KB, then check the opponents and look at their kills. You can count on people uploading kills, but never on losses. This was a pretty hilarious read what a bad alliance, people like this are an embaressment just remember that based on the combat stats you named they do not need anyone to tell them how bad they are, the enemies blasters are doing it for you.

This is nothing new tbh.
This pathetic reputation of Foundation alliance is widely known.
While this alliance is ruled by few "elite", any individual efforts are discouraged, pilots are prohibited to engage in soloing, the only pvp alliance members are allowed to do is when in gang and led by their "elite" commanders. Hell, are they even allowed to do other activities without permission of their leadership? like trading etc?
So basically their pilots lose an opportunity to develop their own individual pvp know-how, but instead they are teached how to operate in herds and completely forget what is individual advancement. You do what the commander says, no more, no less. This is where the famous tactical solution of dropping 2 carriers on a single hostile hac comes from.
While I understand this style may favor some pilots, other pilots might not even know that there is completely other game out there. The game when you are free to do what you want, when you are free to express your opinion, the game when organisation one is in fosters mastery of their members on indivual level, not as a crowd and not for the wellbeing of the "few".

While this statement is probably true we hear too many similar reports coming from Foundation on a regular basis for the ops statement to be denied.
We are also aware of internal disent with regards to Foundations capital hot dropping tactics and furhermore we are also aware of Foundation orders released earlier in the year not to engage in PvP outside of their main FC lead gangs, though to be fair we no longer know if this is still the case. Such orders were initially implemented to stop Foundation losses to our recon squads in the pipes, npc'ing and stationed systems of Great Wildlands. Foundation pilots were getting flamed on the comment section of their killboards for breeches of these orders until someone pointed out that the boards were public and it probably wasn't good for publicity
As for statistics its their board they can do what they wish, as someone has already said you need to analyse multiple boards and the truth will lie somewhere in between. Capital losses removed from their baords is a bit much thoiugh - we are still confused as to why Valdor Hags Thantos loss was removed. We can only assume it was as a result of a successful petition but that carrier deliberately left the safety of the station in an attmept to save the Nyx. The Nyx was saved but it cost them two carriers. The respect we had for the Foundation pilots who sacraficed those carriers to achieve this is eradictaed by the fact that they filed a petition falsely in my opinion and removed one of the losses from the boards.

Since I'm such a nice guy, I'm going to give you some tips on how to do this kind of thing on coad:
1) Don't be the first to reply to your own alt, it makes it look like you were sitting there waiting for the thread. Wait for someone to write 'first in failthread' or something.
2) Make it believable. 800 man alliance but the main area of concern is the guy who also posts second in your thread. You're in Awox territory there :)
3) Jimbojombo was kicked for being a BYDI alt.. but that's fine. He also never flew in gang and was discovered immediately. Problem is, anyone can see this by searching the FDN killboard for 'Jimbojombo'. Use an alt who at least racked up kills.
4) At least mention Goons, Bob, General WindyPops or something!
5) The tears in this thread are, strangely, not even based on a fight but rather on a previous 'war' thread by BYDI, which went sour for them when the maths came to the table and they realised that their gang managed to score a negativity efficiency against FDN, despite being the smaller entity operation in a region where FDN don't live.. Linkage to thread Priceless.
So this is a thread based on losing a thread.
6) I'm not sure what Glocksmith is on about, but since he's -v- I'd like to point out that they used to have more members than us and 5 alliances backing them up (several of whom are now extinct), declared a 'short term goal' (thanks LD!) for most of their existence to kill us and absolutely failed. And better than the systems we have from them, ships, great fights and battles, even their Princess is now with us
7) FDN had about a 60% efficiency in the war mentioned. We could have done better but against low-sec gate campers who can wait for targets that's outrageously high - enough tears to get the damage limitation going, hence this thread and the last, it would seem.
8) Finally, people don't join alliances, claim to 'enjoy' it, and then get upset over some k/d ratio in a fight they never took part in - jimbo never even appeared in GW, never mind join a gang or make a kb entry. Him having these thoughts is fairly implausible, nor would any alliance ask his opinion until he undocks or reports for duty. You've got to work on these kind of things and do it properly, get your alt in gang, etc. etc. Coad deserves more!
9) Throw a bone in for the casual reader. They can already tell you lost by the opening two posts so you might as well. Jimojombo stole lovell's wyvern! or some such

There's actually something I've been wondering about for a while now..... I often see FOUNDATI0N members go around saying that they're an antipirate and antigriefer alliance, and that they're fighting for a free great wildlands etc etc. How on earth does that in any way make sence considering you're a goonswarm ally, having goonfleet in them aka the evepart of the biggest griefer-society on the net??
