It's rare for me to come on these forums and rant. But I must say that these overview issues, more than I care to bother listing, need to be fixed and fixed now.
This is the main interface and it is badly broken and misbehaved. Please fix its numerous issues. Though I do appreciate the efforts for tabs and brackets, if the cost is the current broken state, I'd prefer the older version given the choice.
Thanks, -AS

Edited by: Tarminic on 20/03/2008 21:35:33 I don't really understand what you hope to do with this post? The bug hunters are already hunting bugs, not checking out the forums. The best way to expedite a fix for the problem is to make sure you bug report each bug you find. ---------------- Tarminic - 33 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79.2 |

something somewhere is broken - in my opinion. Please use your valuable time to read my mind and figure out what the hell I am talking about. Oh and be quick about it........

An expression of frustration about that which should never made it past QA. I bug reported issues when I saw them on SiSi with this overview, it was returned as "defect". That accomplished nothing.
If this thread yields a dev response with an ETA on fixes, then I'll consider the thread accomplished.

What overview issues, exactly? Cause I'm not having any problems. Maybe you just don't know how to set them up with the new system?

In the language of bugs that means it has been recognized as a problem...

Oh yes I can see it now:
"Quick some bloke on the internet reckons there is a problem with the program" "Did he say what?" "Nah" "Never mind lets jump to it - post a message to tell him his unspecified issue will be fixed in 24 hours....."

The least you could to to get a response from a dev is spell out the issue you're having exactly. IE objects don't update correctly. A filter (one or all) aren't filtering what they say they're filtering.
I know it's a stretch for the less savy to try and isolate their issue as technically as possible but you have to try if you expect the other side to even give you the light of day.
They're busy people and they could spend time trying to guess what your problem is or they could investigate a bug from someone who took the time to articulate a helpful report.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the overview constantly resetting its position to the middle of the screen when undocking? :)

How about: The constant resizing when undocking The way all the windows move when you join a fleet The way if you open the map in space that the object bar moves down to either above or below the overview Random column width changes On rare occasions the drone window still disappears when ejecting or scooping drones Sometimes other ships get 'stuck' on the overview and you have to refresh to remove them. --------------------- Nox Eternus is Recruiting, contact me or Sgt Shazz ingame for info. |

Umm the overview is fine actually it's practically bug free with the occasional minor glitch but not enough to warrant coming to the forums to whine about it. now STFU

See this is probably why the Devs are taking so long to fix this issue, because I for one haven't suffered with any of these problems, on any of my 9 characters across 3 accounts.
If the Devs can't reproduce the problem, due to it not affecting everyone, then how can they possibly hope to fix it quickly ? -------------------------------------------

I've had every one of those issues, along with having to relocate my overview and selected item windows back to their default positions because they move every time I undock, even when pinned/locked in place. Target Origin moves back to the default postion, which happens to be right under where I like my fleet window and makes it damn near impossible to tell if I have the right target selected or my modules are actually doing what they should be.
If someone knows how to make it "work as intended" post it... because I have seen nothing but "it works fine for me, I don't believe you" yet so many are talking about the issues and the changes being complete ****e. I can live with the tabs, but I'd like my ALT key back as clicking something takes a lot longer, especially if in a rush. If they won't fix the ALT key, at least give us something that is equivalent (ALT-Z is not the same, trust me. I'm still reworking the overview settings I've used for going on 2 years now).
Just adding to the noise... this post will be lost in the spam in about 10 minutes. ------------

add: - Overview jumping well out of the edge of the screen, making it unmoveable and unuseable unless you change screen res or alt-enter - Camera focused on station exit when undocking in some situations (don't know what that's about...), forcing you to 'reset camera' to see anything at all. ...

i understand your point on the bug hunters here, but tbh, shouldnt these bugs be tested for and seen on SiSi before being brought half-assed to live? ____________________________________________

I suffer from these little issues too, on both my accounts.
And to L7 for the STFU comment as his stuff is fine...so few words say so much about somebody.

Forgot the most "fun" one I had which forced me to place my selected item window back in it's default position.
-Selected item window randomly resizes vertically to at least 10x the size of the screen and takes forever to slowly compress it down again by dragging it from the top...
Took me 5 minutes one time, while in the process of warping to gang to get into a fight. ------------
