Im building a new computer and my friend assures me its essentially future proof but I want to make sure that there is no problems for EvE:
Mother board: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813128059
Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127329
Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817182017
Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822148262
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820231098
This computer will be running two accounts on prem graphics with two moniters. A Yay or Nay would be great in the next 24 hours (Want to be building this thing over spring break).

Should be good, but you might want more RAM.

Yeah I brought that up and he said that XP only handles about 2.5 gigs. Im on a budget so he recomended that we stick to only 2 gigs and use the extra for the quad.

XP can handle quite a lot of memory in the 64-bit flavour. 32-bit systems can't handle more than a total of 4GB, which includes VRAM and other stuff, so in practice about 3,4-3,5GB.
I'd do exactly the opposite and get 4GB RAM instead of the quad unless you will be using it for video encoding, 3D rendering etc. (I have a quad myself and no game yet has used more than two cores what I've been able to see. Including games like SupremeCommander.)

Yeah, that's what I have. 4gb, 3.5 of that is recognised + 512mb of the video card. Eve can use quite a lot, especially if you want to run more than one client simultaneously.

He recomended I stay away from the 64 bit version of XP (I cant recall why atm). The intent though is that in one shot I wont have to upgrade this thing at all save maybe an extra bit of ram down the road until its time to replace it all togeather. Again though the problem is budget wise and given that you cant upgrade a CPU, but only replace it, he strongly pushed that the money go towards the CPU and get extra RAM later when the money is back.

Good point about RAM being upgradeable. I think the reason he said to stay away from XP-64 is that it can be hard to find drivers for some hardware. General stuff like graphics cards and mobos from large manufacturers arent a problem. I've used it myself and have friends who do without issues. I switched when i noticed my new soundcards drivers were only beta and had issues with many games(Auzentech card, this was about a year ago so its been fixed since). Generally though this shouldn't be much of a problem. Applications shouldnt be an issue either.
