I see someone selling corp so others can set up a pos in empire, how does it work?
They make the corp, wait for standings to raise, then make my alt or whatever to ceo? do i have to get to pos up before next dt so the standings wont go down again or how does it work?

They make a corp with a player with already high personal standings to the empire.
Run missions until a storyline one and then once the storyline is done the personal empire standings start to move across to corp to empire standing.
Once enough downtimes have gone by the corp standing to the empire standing will be the same as the CEOs personal standing.
They then anchor a control tower, they don't necessarily have to online it or put up any other structures as the standing is only required to anchor the control tower.
They can then sell the corp, by getting a new person in as CEO and leaving. The corp has then got an anchored control tower waiting to be onlined.
Be warned though that when the original CEO leaves the corp after the next DT the empire standing will plummet like a rock. So the high standings are only good until next DT so if you plan on anchoring more than 1 tower you must do so quickly. -- eve-guides.com All about POSs, Outposts, Exploration, Mining, Invention, EVE Database + much more!! |

Edited by: Mentonak on 21/03/2008 12:44:30 I've set up a pos in this way. Note it could also work that a player sets up a corp, puts up the pos, then hands the corp over.
When I did it, there was no requirement to do missions while in the new corp. Just me with a 8.0 standing took the corp standings up in about a week.
All standings started at 0. As I remember it the formula was something like, for each down time: new_standing = old_standing + ((average_player_standing - old_standing) / 4).
That is, it increases each down time, by a quarter of the difference between your players standing and the current standing.
And yes, if a player joins they can put up a pos, before DT and avoid any drop in corp standings.
Hope this helps

I think this is dependent on the specific situation. I had someone raise the standings for my corp, and when they left, the standings stayed the same. In fact, they are the same today, six months later.
Perhaps the difference is, that I have no standings to the empires in question. In fact, I now have some members in the corp who do have standings, but they have not run missions since joining.
If your experience was different, it is probably because you had standings when you rejoined.

As long as anyone who joins the corp has no standings at all the corp's standings will remain what they were when the original CEO left.
As soon as one member completes a mission that affects their faction standing at all, the corp standings will start falling each downtime until they settle at the proper value, preventing any new POS from being anchored.

I guess it would be both pretty hard and pointless as well to suicide even a small POS. Otherwise, they would have to declare war before they could legally shoot it, so yes, it should be pretty safe.
As far as what tower, you could start with a small caldari tower with a couple labs (I think a small can support 3?). If you get a war declaration, just plan to take it down before the 24 hours are up.
Upgrading to a larger tower is a pain, as you have to unanchor everything then anchor the new stuff, so if you anticipate needing a larger one soon and have the cash, go for that now. Otherwise, just start off with the small.

To the OP, I can also join a corp you already made and boost as a regular member. Only problem is that current CEO usually has standings, slowing down daily gains. So its best to have an alt with no standings be ceo while I boost a corp.
I recommend medium tower. You can have 3 toons on your account. Why not train them lazy alts to do research? A medium caldari tower can support 5 regular and 2 advanced remote labs. Faction tower is also a good idea, pays for itself in fuel savings in 3-4 months.
