Edited by: Don Richardo on 21/03/2008 11:34:32 After the new patch i've had 3 or 4 BSOD's. this always occour when docked in a station. I've never had BSOD's in the past 5 months I've been playing Eve, so I find it strange. Anyone else had this problem and/or have any fixes?
Edit: -running classic client

I had a BSOD as well once and last night while docked at a station, I havent had any problems with eve in the past but figured it could be hardware so I went into my PC disconnected and re-connected everything firmly, checked fans were cleaned and Im hoping it doesnt happen again. I must admit with you posting about a bsod Im thinking there may be issues with the client? Still cleaned out my case just to be sure and Im using the eve online premium client. I will let you know if I have any morre problems tonight once Ive been on eve a while. I have also in windows xp turned off the automatic restart on BSOD option so if it happens again I can write down the exact error. You should do the same if you havent already and we can maybe see whats causing it. (If you get it fixed feel free to PM me in game and I will do the same if things work great today after tidying up my PC)

Tnx for the reply!
I'll write down the bsod-desciption if it happens again and post it here. I'm playing eve on a laptop, and i don't think it's caused by heat, the temp was normal. Lets hope its just a client issue. Running xp pro sp2

Disable hardware audio acceleration in the Eve options. This has worked for me and various others. Do a search for BSOD and you will see posts from a lot of people with same problem. So far only solution that has worked everytime was disabling hardware audio acceleration. (<esc> -> Audio Tab -> un-tick box in right hand corner)

Edited by: Davis Valdran on 22/03/2008 01:24:35 Edited by: Davis Valdran on 22/03/2008 01:23:44 sir bonker thanks for your reply, its to soon for me to fully say but tonight my pc has been a bit better. I did read on the forums about disabling hw acceleration but didnt like the idea of that so I mucked around and I ended up uninstalling the driver from the realtek site and installing the same version driver but from my motherboard site and eve up until now hasnt bsod. The thing is Ive seen alot of problems in PCs Ive worked on and BSODS are hard to diagnose at times, there can be so many differant reasons for them on differant configurations but I used microsoft dumpcheck on the last bsod and noticed that kmixer and other audio files were causing a problem. That makes me in conjunction with what you have said believe there a high high chance HD audio drivers need fixing.(I have seen hd audio problems with more than just eve I think the drivers need work, thats my view anyway, in saying that all my other games have had fixes that didnt involve having to disable HW accel, I hope its a client issue but Im unsure)
I just hope eve keeps running!
Hshot its eve premium on xp Im using.

I have been able to reproduce this issue on both an Audigy 2 and a Realtek onboard. So I am thinking it is a bug with Eve and not a particular sound driver. The BSOD code I got was 0x7F. That one means that a hardware malfunction or a program is attempting to write to restricted memory space. It is my thinking that the code in Eve that controls the hardware audio calls is possibly messed up. However, I am not a coder, I am a hardware guy.

Actually yeah I did a lot of dumpchecks but I was getting the 7F error as well, what you say puts my mind at rest thanks!
