It seems to me that 1/3 of your time in EVE is spent traveling, 1/3 is spend buying or selling things on the market, and the other 1/3 is spent doing constructive things. Wouldn't it make sense to let us view the market while in space (warping from system to system). Of course you would only be able to actually sell items while docked, but you should be able to look at prices and buy items while in space. If this would cause a strain on the market update load, just let us take the last list we updated with us when we leave a station. It seems like a huge waste of time to me that I spend a large portion of my time traveling and another large portion simply looking at items and prices, yet I can't do these at the same time.

well.. it's been brought up a few times before, CCP didn't do anything about it then, doubt they'll implement it now

I always thought it'd be nice if they added a high slot module (long range scanner perhaps) so that you could view market data in space. May as well put those indy high slots to use~. Maybe a single slot module for constellation range, and a two-slot module for regional range (thus the larger industrials can use this). ______________

You know, if I can sit in my living room and play EVE on my laptop using my wireless LAN, why can't my Majestic Caldari Raven (says so right in the description) call up a local market report at the very least from the system it's currently in? _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

Viewing the market from space would be nice...I mean I can see how many pilots are in a system 100 jumps from me, why can't I view the market?

Idea Lab.
Calling your broker in the local system would be good, default viewing of the whole market while in space much like the map and the bowlegged girl, giving it all up too easy...
What I would like to see is interaction with NPC traders and other corporate officials in space offering goods and/or missions, as to not make working for NPC a matter of mechanically visiting that in-station agent over and over but doing some on the fly as they appear.

hell they could even give you a drone that can can float off and pick stuff up for you. you buy it in space.. attach a drone to the product and then send it off to pick up that item. course it wouldn't be able to hold really big stuff and you risk losing the item if it gets attacked....but hey it could be worth it.
your attacking NPC's and you need more ammo..so you send the collector drone off to pick up some more ammo from your station and bring it back to you.
could be a nice thing? gonna put this in the idea's forum just as a suggestion. --------------------------------------------- The world is a battle field, pass me my gun! The Black Ops Recruiting. combat Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes XXXXXXXX, wrecking for 518.0 damage. |

While we are at it lets get rid of stations altogether, Who needs them?
We can store our belongings in secure cargo containers. Set up our own insurance rackets. Use a word of mouth escrow. Use armour/hull repair mods. Have drones that can instal new mods.
Any other ideas to make it so we can live the life of a hermit?
I roleplay... there is this computer game called "Earth - The First Genesis" where i play a character in the early 21st century. |

overboard indeed
This isnt a bad idea and one i wish would be implemented, in rl if i get a price list i can read it anywhere i like, but not in this game, which is dumb. Its super high tech ffs, so whats the problem with a market available to all everywhere. And while were at it, Agents always tell you there swamped with little jobs, whats so wrong with letting us pick from a few jobs instead of just getting one.

Now, this I do want. I often spend ages in stations playing with the market while I could be mining or something. If Ceefax and Teletext (TV-text) can do 'live' market prices, why can't the Eve stations broadcast this on a low-power signal? Keep it system-only, and let us order items to pick up when we dock. This is only like getting the internet on the beach, and booking bus tickets for the next day (for example).
I can't think of any RP reason not to have this, and moving the market from the station tools into a quick-bar tool shouldn't be too much of a problem. The only stumbling block, if not considered early enough, could be jumping when the market window is open.
