Alpha Prime

Having bought this game and allready run into alot of bugs and also experienced possibly the worst converted graphicsengine ever, i'd like to warn all other possible buyers from this game when it comes to the PCversion.
I have checked on alot of forums concerning Assassins Creed to PC and it appears that Ubisoft are in no hurry to release a patch to solve the issues with both the bugs and the porly converted engine.
Im running a 3.2Ghz CPU, 3g DDR2 800Mhz Ram, coolingmodded 8800GT. And as soon as i even come close to drowds bigger then 5 ppl, my framerate drops significantly.
I have also looked up on Ubisoft's own site and there is no sign of any patch for the PCversion of the game.

Perhaps the version you 'bought' is the pre-release, in development copy that was leaked to torrents and news groups a few weeks back? If so.. you might want to take it back for a refund

You won't be able to use the patch off Ubi's site even when it is released. You'll have to keep watching wherever it is you got the game for an updated executable.
Mind you that said Ubi are pretty poor at patching PC games people paid for so there you go. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Lawl,
The "WareZKiddZ"-version is a pre-release that got sent to some magazines for previews of the PC-version.

As others have stated, the "leaked" version online is not a finished product, and the launch date for the official PC version is not for another week+, a bit more in other countries. The preprelease version is riddled with bugs and is indeed horribly optimized. Now, no one is certain if the final product will be the same, but since it's not out yet: I guess we'll see.
Way to go on admitting to downloading warez on the forums of a gamedeveloper. That is seriously epic. ----------------------

Besides the fact that I toally endorse a "driving"-license like seal for computer users, especially when it comes to questions such as "Why does my pirated copy not run?" "Why don't they support unreleased software?" "How does I failed on the internets?" and "Do you want to make fun of me or do I have to digg me a hole first?" for computer-related issues, I have to state my current disapproval of ports from consoles to PC.
Remember Halo (1)? When the cinematic-trailer for the PC-version first came out everyone was like "Wheee, awesome!" - then the developers got bought by Microsoft and had to release it for the Xbox. The re-port to PC then roally sucked because it was just too console-ish.
Metal Gear 2? Decent on the PS2 (though the main character was girlish and whiny) but awful for the PC (besides the graphics, which were outdated once it got released).
Have you ever played Clive Barker's Jericho (Demo) for PC? Don't worry, you've missed nothing. It it fun when you use a gamepad but royally sucks for keyboard-users. Go see for yourself.
Other such major failures include these "dancing"-games (the ones with that mat you have to step around on). Just not the same on the PC.
Now, whilst I agree that one can't complain about performance for an unreleased piece of software I fear for the fun-aspect on the PC. We're spoiled by all these beautiful, atmospheric and storywise brilliant games of the past (be it Monkeys Island, System Shock, Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate, Eve-Online, and so many many more). In my opinion the average PC user expects a certain degree of complexity I have yet to find in a console game (doesn't mean "simple" games can't be fun, too).
Well, guess time will tell what Ubisoft makes of Assassins Creed. I've seen the console version at a friend of mine I didn't like what I saw.
Happy forumwhoring,
