for n00bs that is. I got my caracal bought already i got the skills bought, im just wait for the damn training time. I got like 10 million isk with no use, ive mined my butt off im done agent missions on the ying yang to do it all, i nerded out non stop.
All it got me was too much money to spend, and not enough time to train in.
What do you do why you wait?
Too bad they dont allow you to spend money on skill points to kill an hour or two even if way expensive.

How about investing it in goods and modules to trade?

You could look for a corp to join? Maybe one that is involved in role-play and PvP. It adds to the experience tremendously IMO and there is plenty of scope for frigate pilots to be useful in PvP too. -------------------------- PIE Inc Captain and Internal Communications Officer |

Join a corp in 0.0 space, if you can fly a frigate you're useful in a fleet battle and can have tons of fun while you wait for your skills to train up ;) Frigate fights are becoming more and more common in 0.0 space, and the best part is you don't need good skills or experience because if you get shot down, you lose 300k =P

Go and make people mad at you by blowing them up
in my opinion that is the most fun in EVE, not making people mad at me but the PVP.
making isk is only to support PVP, making isk should not be a career imo. Spawn of the Devil

Edited by: Crypt Keeper on 13/04/2004 08:40:31 Edited by: Crypt Keeper on 13/04/2004 08:40:13 i went into to 0.0 space 3 times. 2 times i got blown out of the sky almost instantly. 1 time, was, ehhh.
1) warped to asteroids, 10 - 40,000 isk bounty pirates obliterated me, in about 10 seconds before warp would even kick in. I call this the "wtf incidence"
2)got smoked by a whole fricken corp camping the damn jumpgate. Last hmm, about 20 seconds, cause thats how long it took for 50 cruise missles to get to me.
3) actually had a great 1 vs 1 merlin (him) kestrel (me), fight, I use heavies, and locked him from about 40,000 away, he was dead before he could even hit me.
Still waiting for that special moment in 0.0 space.

train the corp skill, make a corp and find a small corp to declare war on.
well, declare war on 3 corps, make up some reasons and demand isk from them.
of course they wont pay but you will have a great time attacking them, killing their small ships, disrupt their mining and make their life a general living hell while you are online. Spawn of the Devil

I found it amusing to buy up all the kind of a particular kind of something in a region and keep buying it if anyone undercut me.
Surprisingly I cut a profit. There isnt as much resistance as you think.
Once you start the cornering the market the proceeds basically fund the rebuying out the people that try to undercut you.
Its a dangerous thing to do with your isk but moderatly amusing to screw with an entire region.

The game doesn't start until you enter 0.0 space. Otherwise your still killing goblins on the first level of the dungeon :)

Yes, one always get these elusive answers when asking about that. It is a sore point about Eve which the fanbois refuse to acknowledge: that the game has relatively little variety in interactions it can offer its players.
Its like handing a kid two legos, and sooner or later he'll say "I'm bored of this. Can't I have more lego's?"
To where the lego fanbois reply "But you havent combined the two pieces in every way conceivable yet! there's loads of things left for you to do! Also you can imagine all sorts of stuff about them and you're well entertained for decades!".
The truth is probably between those extremes :) EVE isn't THICK with canned content such as Asheron's Call is or EverQuest. But if you will meet Eve half-way, and try to play along on its premises, you will find out that you can indeed make your own fun. But it does require that you skill up on your social side and start hanging out with a corp, perhaps even one that dares venture into 0.0 space and do some wars.
But yes, mining and agent missions is 50% of the viable activities you can perform "solo", at least for a long while. Trading goods and hunting NPC's for loot is the other half, even though hunting NPC's smacks too much of doing Agent missions.
. . . Awaiting more and hi-bit rate music - with bated breath ... |

Get involved with fleet battles. When you warp in thinking you'll be at 80-100KM from a force of 20 battleships and realize that in reality you're only 15-30KM from them- that'll get your heart going.
