There seems to be some confusion about the FA Civil war in a number of the recent posts about who's talking about who.
So, just for clarification purposes, I propose that the opposition of the NFA (New Fountain Alliance) headed (apparentley) by Xanadu, and the other members that remain in the Reformed and "Repaired" FA give themselves a name.
I'm not here to start a flamewar or call people out or nothin' I just think people should have clarity :).
In light of this, I propose a few new names to get this thread started. Now, for the record. I don't give a throw what you call yourselves, as long as it's distinguishable from "NFA" (they cannont still call themselves FA, because it's no longer the same alliance, as they've stated previously it's been "reformed" and "repaired". Hence, New name.)
Names I thought of (whether they're applicible or not is up for debate, but try not to flame our friendly neighborhood Troll-post-locking Mods are always on patrol!)
Fountain Federation [FF]
Fountain Freedom Fighters [F3]
Rev0lution Alliance [RA]
Now, this is all assuming there is an actual "alliance" of opposition, not just Rev0l. So I leave it here, and at the wisdom and flamery of the GalNet boards.

I think FA should still be used by the alliance in Fountain area, no reason be pull a venal here imo.
The attackers can call them selfs what ever since they will disband in few weeks and will be forgotten by everyone except the ones who fought in that war.

Anyways, I think we should pull a venal here, I will hence forth refer to the remaining corps in the Fountain region as NFA members. But it still leaves the people that are mad at them with no name. They need a universal referral.

oh and btw, its not a new alliance, afaik its just a few corporations that was kicked out, namely the ones trying to destroy FA from within(hi lester, remo & cawt etc). what FA has been doing is to keep the alliance alive, not make a new one.

Meh. I'm still calling them NFA. Besides, they deserve a new name. In the 1st Official Announcment post, someone kept mentioning the HHI/SIM theft. That was over 3 months ago. Their corp has changed, and so has the FA (into the NFA ;)).
After reading that LONG Council meeting log, i was in stiches. What a horrible way of conducting leadership. It's downright inefficient, But hilarious coming from CA. 3 1/2 hr meeting, and Typed no less! . "voting on whether or not we should have a vote". Hilarious stuff, Truely. But back to the topic please

I will suggest the tag FF for the attackers, wich would stand for Former Fountainians.
We could even go as far as FFF for Frustrated Forsakened Fountainians but in my opnion an alliance tag should be only 2 letters.
Well then its can be F3 for Frustrated Forsakened Fountainians or even F4 for Frustrated Forsakened Former Fountainians.
F4 does have a ring to it.

but its not a new alliance, its the same alliance going trough some structural changes. if anyone should be named 'NFA' it should be the ones kicked out of FA and there revol friends, if they actually end up in 1 camp at all, i dunno yet, all they seem to do is ***** at xan about how evil and backstabbing they are. not that punching someone that is bad mouthing you all the time makes you a backstabber anyway

Seriously, I too am a little confused over who is who in this interesting bit of eve drama.
As for alliance names, I have learned a few things from experience:
1. Adding "New" to any name forever ties you to the previous incarnation of your alliance. If change is what you want, ditch the "new".
2. Don't ever try to be tounge-in-cheek-funny with your alliance abbreviation. The EVE community gets violently abusive if you dont name the alliance they arent in just right.

The alliance currently in possession is called FA - Fountain alliance
If or if you not agree with this fact doesnt matter to us and will not change our name either.
Since the coup the alliance holds still the majority of all former membercorps and overall pilots and is even morally or legally entitled to carry the name on.
Since all 3 former chairman and all former officials stayed within the new alliance alongside their corps it will only backup any further claim of history, especially since all our polticial partners agreed to continue the FA agreements with the reformed FA.

On the name change, there are numerous ways to argue why the alliance needs a name change.(example: Fountain alliance is no longer the same since their memberbase changed,alot)
If people are serious in their accusation of trolling they can argue for that in private at [email protected]
However the names suggested here do need to be respectful towards the alliance in question.

No, because they are in fountain, they're what's left of the FA after the "repairs" and they're at war with the old fountain corps that were kicked out. But, because the exiles don't "officialy" claim fountain, they can't really be called NFA or FA? Can they? Exactley, they can't, knew you'd see it my way . Also because if you just said "fountainiers" that refers to all people that reside within the Fountain region. But there are 2 distinct Factions. Thus, You (xan and whoever else didn't get kicked) are the NFA, because you officialy retain control of fountain and the governing body runs though the corps within that entity.
The other corps however, don't claim the area, nor govern it. Thus, they need a name distinguishing themselves from their adversaries.

Whenever someone creates an alliance in this game, is it standard policy that someone creates a thread on the board where the comminuty is supposed to discuss and decide on a name for it? No, they chose one themselves.
Secondly, FA name themselves FA, because they have used that name since july/august or somewhere back then. There isent a 'new' alliance, its still the old one. The majority of the corps that was there is still there, in the old alliance. The changes that have happened inside the alliance is inside it. Major changes perhaps, but its just internal changes, so changing the name is just pointless.
If someone would be to make a 'NFA' it would be someone else fighting over fountain perhaps, like if a coalition of new corps decided to invade fountain and claim it as theres, they could name themselves 'NFA'.

Fountain was re-structured. Corporations that had been there a long time and shown dedication were kicked.
Fountain isnt the same anymore, hence the [NFA] tag...

Supposedly, a regional alliance should bear the region name tag. As it is the case with, say, Stain or Curse. I see Fountain on the map as well as the above listed regions.
It would be rather laborious to change a name of an alliance as new corporations join, or some leave. The composition would change, yes, but the region is all the same.

Well, to use a differnat analogy:
(since i'm from canada, i'll use that as the example)
If one prime minister's "reign" is over, and a new one's voted in, the party of that PM comes with it, the Country (canada) isn't renamed, but since there's a differant PM, and possibley a differant Government in office.. well.. it's a differant "new" government.
For example, (I apologize for using so many RL analogies like this esspecially politicaly related, but it's all I could think of that fit) After the Liberals took over the the NDP the gov' was referred to as the "New Canadian Gov" (for a time, but it was still referred to that regardless...)
