Ok i helped a guy in corp make a Hulk setup so he could tank Drones in 0.0 (-0.8 true sec) but it didn't hold and he had to jump out with damaged structure... He has minimal shield skills but still find it strange that it didn't work. It was only 2 frigate sized and 2 cruiser sized drones at him.
3 x Strip miners
Gistii B-Type Small Shield Booster
Kinetic Active Hardener Tech 1
Explosive Active Hardener Tech 1
Invuln Field Tech 1
Elara's Mining Upgrade
Capacitor Power Relay Tech 1
Ideas on how too improve this? Ha has perfect mining skills and Engineering and Electronics both atlevel 5. Energy System Op level 3 and Energy management level 2.

He has enough shield skills to fit the stuff on the Hulk so too say.

Tell him to return with his Hulk, when he will have 4M SPs in Engineering and better stuff.

Well what would be the cheapest fitting for a 0.0 hulk then?

Get some faction hardners that are equivelent to the t2 ones. That should help reasonably well.

 What no drones on board?? WTF is wrong with him. Have em train drone skills if he ain't got any. Big mistake if you plan to mine in 0.0 imo

Your friend needs to train all 4 of the shield compensation skills, Tactical Shield manipulation and Shield Compensation.
Each of those needs to be at least lvl 4, the 4 Shield COmpensation skills give you and extra 5% shield HP per level to passive hardners. Tactical Shield Man will allow the fitting of an Inval Field II and the Shield Compensation reduces the cap needs to the shield booster.
As for fitting, top row takes care of its self
I use a Pithi C-Type SB (near as dam it as good as a Gistii A-Type but a lot cheaper), a Kinetic Deflection Amp II and 2 Cap Recharger II
Low slots, whatever.
My set up will tank a triple BS spawn in Guritas space. For the Drone regions, he will need to look at his EM and Thermal resists as they are the lowest.

I don't know, I have't flew one for ages.
But...
Gistii A-Type gives 57hp, while B-type only 41. A-Type is a must.
Capacitor Power Relay kills natural shield boost. It have to go. Use rather power diagnostic system.
Hardeners: I was under the assumption, that drones shoots with every damage. Hulk already has very nice kietic and explo resist. Put some EM and thermal.
I've triet keep it hard and as cheap as possible.

Gisti A-Type 57 HP costs 200 mil
Pithi C-Type 53 HP costs 10 mil
The only drawback with the Pithi is the activation cost is 20 PG compared to the 13 of the Gisti. Of course, the Gisti is a better unit to have, but for a budget fit, the Pithi is ideal.
