Well I'm really getting momentum in this game. I started about a month ago and I'm liking it more every day.
But a few days afte I started I got jacked by a pirate and I started reading about PvP. Which is why I started a subscription, the pvp aspect of eve is amazing.
So I've kind of got my heart set on an Interceptor. I setup a second account for mining to fund my pvp (more like piracy) I plan to eventually have snakes and have a year long plan for maximizing my fun with inty. I prefer the crow over others, the design and missile basis being its selling point.
Anyways on to my questions, I plan to do solo pvp when im bored and hopefully join a pirate corp. Is this viable in an interceptor? with mphasis on the solo part. With the current skill plan and the snakes i plan to have in 9 months (after miner is flying his hulk and doing stuff I still have to get the fine details on lol) I will come out to over 100 dps and a top speed of 12km/s. With some expensive fittings but nothing I won't be quitting game if I lose, I'm expecting to die....alot.
Another question I have, is after anyone looks at this, is there too much dps or too much speed or too little of either. I would like to adjust my skill plan accordingly, hopefully cutting down my training time.
Note: I have the ships to run missions with, a Drake is my next one for level 4s (got build off of battleclinic, a passive tank) and I will be flying it in 6 days all fitted out. Basically I'm saying I'll be mission running during this time so I'm not worried about sanctioning off that much play time while im in my Drake and Cane, and the assorted frigs and cruisers I can fly from gall, cal, and min.
I am grateful for any advice you guys can give me but In closing I wanna say, The Eve community is amazing, everyone has been very helpful and I want to ask (as I've seen it on other thread), that no one bashes each other with deconstructive criticism.
Thanks -Zae

Solo PvP in an inty is indeed viable but tricky, youll be restricted to belts or planets or any 0.0 away from the gate guns/station guns. With belt pvp comes the obviuos risk of taking a bait and being ganked. So always be carefull , if something is too godd to be true it usually is.
secondly speed would be key id say.. survivability is an intys strong point , dps not so much. Always be carefull for rapier/huginns and/or other inties. youll easely be able to solo any frig, most cruisers cept maybe a nasty vexor with t2 light drones.
Drake is the win for cheapo mission ships, it out tanks a t1 raven easely, it gets the job done at a way lower cost.
As for the alt i would also ge thim into research/RP whor-ing to selld atacores, the upside off this is that you dont have to log on or do anything and its a pure passive income.
Lastly, go yarr some :)
ill think ill just keep the greens :) -Dex |

Well Awesome, If speed being my survivability, How fast should I aim for? Also, this may be noob of me but whats an atacore?
-Zae
Yarr! My first pvp ship was a Rifter, sadly tho, my first kill was an idiot. (I was on my way to low sec and he shot me in 0.5, returned fire and then concord showed up and popped him, made 20 mil off his wreck tho)

Its viable but like someone else said it can pretty risky. 12km/2 will be fine for speed. Youll outrun most inty's...stay away from vagabonds/sabres/minmitar recons. And i hope you mean youll be using low grade snakes as a full set of high grades are ubah expensive. Also Learning skills might help you out with training times (do those first....you will come to hate the month of learning while doing it but love the results)

Yeah low grade snakes =). And I just finished my training 3 days ago, level 4s in all and about to go into a few level 5s to shorten some time of my training plan for crow.

No worries... It's just the phrase "too much dps" hits me about the same way as "too much p*ssy" or "too much booze".

Hey, inties are fun, and crows are little speed demons, though they have low DPS. You may want to look for in the future are hacs, like the ishtar and vagabond, or dictors such as the sabre. All are fast ships.
If you are looking for a corp, Mine is recruiting (shameless I know) we do lots of pvp and piracy, but mostly empire war decs.

Hate to say it, but there is something fundamentally wrong with your plan.
You seem to be trying to run missions and mine to fund your piracy...
Fly cheap ships until you learn the ropes. A competent pirate makes money from piracy.. not loses it. That is the point really (also its fun as hell).
One more thing, why set a 9 month plan? Take your ship, put a scram on it and get yourself in low-sec now.

Rubbish.
Do whatever you gotta do to keep your ass in ships and in business. Stop giving two ****s about who's pirates, who's not and what constitutes piracy. Grab any opportunity for a fight you can get. Go to low sec, go to 0.0, flip cans in empire, rep people fighting in empire and have his enemies engage you. Anything that allows you to triumph and err, and accumulate experience.
Fly cheap, because your competences will build more when you're not constantly worrying about going broke if you pop. Eve is the kind of game where taking chances carries with it great rewards, and you won't develop skill and intuition by being busy looking for signs of the almighty blob in every fight.
Finally, don't bother with alliances and selfproclaimed master pvp corps. Odds are it's a giant failboat where people can hide their insecurities and incompetences in the shade of better players and larger numbers. Leave the corp stuff for later in your eve life, when you've developed a good base of knowledge and experience.
Also, don't ever think for a second that anyone posting more inhere than he plays the game ever had anything going for him.

T2 light drones won't catch an interceptor doing anything near 12km/s. But yeah, if you see something like a Rapier (which can neutralize your speed advantage from range), get out while you can.

When I had just started, I created my own 1 man corp and just declared war on this medium sized corp. I died a few times, but quickly learned what worked and what didn't and ended up slaughtering an 8 man fleet by myself. My learning style is very much hands on, I learn by doing. After about a month, I got bored of doing it myself and luckily managed to join an amazing PVP/Pirate corp. I would suggest joining a decent pirate corp. Also, don't think you need a super fast crow in order to PVP, take out a kestrel and start experimenting.

You could probably cut your speed a little bit I think. At that speed your agility might not be enough for you to orbit very well anyway. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you could cut your speed a bit in favor of DPS or something. If you're using two Overdrive Injectors for example, removing one would let you replace it with an agility mod instead and then you might be more balanced.
