I have a dual monitor desktop set up. It's 2560x1024. I want to run the game entirely on one screen (and I want to be able to choose which screen). Unfortunately even if I restrict the game to a 1280x1024 window, it somehow gains knowledge that the outside world is 2560x1024, so parts of the screen get cut off.
Now my actual workspaces under Ubuntu / Gnome are also 2560x1024. I'm also trying to figure out how to bring those down to size (so each monitor can displays its own workspace). I think figuring out this part might fix the Eve bug.
Has anyone got this working in the way that I'd like to run the game?

okay I figured it out, and unlike some chumps I'll explain how I fixed it.
I used nvidia-settings (run under root from terminal). What worked for me:
"Separate X Screen" for each monitor. Disable Xinerama.
Save the file, replace the one in /etc/X11 (or where ever it is on your system).. and never forget about backing it up..
Each screen is basically its own independent 1280x1024 desktop now.
I have the game running in full screen on a CRT, and my LCD has all my applications. I'm essentially using the CRT as a free antialias :P

As far as i know there's no way at all launch EVE in fullscreen mode on one screen and at the same time work on another in Win (eve just minimizes). ------- EVE Online + GNU/Linux (ru_RU version) |

If you're using KDE with Xinerama support, try this:
Set cedega/wine to "Virtual Desktop" mode, and EVE to run in fullscreen mode, using your monitor's native resolution (1280x1024). You get a window with EVE completely filling it. Now just move the window on the desired screen, right-click on the window's title bar and select Enhanced->Fullscreen. The window border disappears, and it fills the whole screen. If you need to run two seperate EVE clients with wine, use a different WINEPREFIX, otherwise you can't open two instances.

Wine supports multiple eve instances launched from the same location... ------- EVE Online + GNU/Linux (ru_RU version) |
