Recently, I came into possession of a pair of BPCs, for 'Anaconda Mines' and 'Python Mines' respectively. I asked around, and aparently mines were something removed from EVE very early on due to being overpowered. That said, I have BPCs, and they don't require much to make (just industry II and a few basic minerals).
So, assuming I have mines, how do I use them? The information page doesn't list a specific launcher, but the skill required for their use is 'missile launcher operation,' leading me to suspect that they are launched from a standard missile launcher. Can anyone who has been in EVE long enough to know about mines explain how to use them?
EDIT: I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but I honestly couldn't think of anywhere else to put it...

actually no.
mines were removed because they were pretty much useless.
they were the first lagbomb in EVE however, but they changed the way they were deployed and they were pretty much useless for a while.
then they were removed "temporarily" untill CCP could get an idea of what to do with them.

I know they were 'removed' from the game, I'm wondering if I can use the mines that I have the BPCs for; are they launched from a missile launcher, jettisoned from my cargo bay, or do I need some minelaying module that's also been removed... etc.
Essentially, does anyone know if they are still usable, even if they have been 'removed,' or am I stuck with a couple of useless (if rare) BPCs?

A long long time ago in an eve far far away there was the ability to stick any missile into any launcher. This included mines as they were considered missiles. They changed all of this during the caster series of patches in 2004. Mines and their BPOs are just collecter items now... 100% useless and that is all. |

They was not overpowerd they was just Massive lag bombs as people would spam them like isk sellers spam local.
They can't be balanced that well due to the lag they make.
Death is great rember where all dying to get there. |
