Anyone ever try both at the same time?
I have. If you set it up right it is like having your cake and eating it too.
1. Join your TS (make sure your in the right channel for the gang) 2. Join Eve Voice on your fleet chat (after your in gang of course). 3. Go to your EVE Voice settings and turn the input sensitivity down. 4. Make sure your puch to talk key for team speak and eve voice are the same key.
Now, when you go to talk, everyone hears, "ZOMG, I have him tackled! Warp to me!" coming from team speak and everyone sees on the broadcast window your name light up.
So, everyone knows who is talking, and you can easily right click on the broadcast and select, "Warp to Member"
No more of this, "Wait! Warp to who??" "Who is who?" "Talk in 3rd person!!"
But I am sure there will be haters who will say that it will cause lag problems when honestly, I can see no lag difference at all.
I'm serious, set it up and give it a try. Might take an extra minute prep but once thats done it works wonderful in my opinion.

or you can download TSDisp and have a handy little tool in the top corner of your screen to see whos talking, then you wont spam up the broadcast screen

I tried that before, it has issues of causing eve to crash at random times, seems like the worst times too.

Not to mention that you still would have to have the person type something in gang chat for you to interact with (hard when gang chat scrolls with lots of people chatting) or you have to scroll down thru the gang members/local to find their name to interact with.

And hasn't CCP clearly stated that EV works on a different server (or part of the server) and has no effect on lag? I seem to recall hearing that a few months ago. -- Meridius Dex --

Like I said earlier above, you can't interact with the TS overlay.

I'm loving eve voice tbh.
The sound quality is closer to Skype than TS and we don't need to rent a server. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

EVE Voice is far superior in quality to both TS and Vent - and the added features for gangs in combat are undeniable. The problem with getting anyone to use it (including my alliance) is the glitchy, unstable gaming client it supports. Too much lag and discos in large fleet engagements means that people must keep their TS open to get back into the game/fight.
This solution might just solve that, if anyone can be persuaded to give it a try. -- Meridius Dex --

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Vivox manages the EVE-Voice servers. ---------------- Tarminic - 34 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79.3 (Updated 3/24) |
