Lately I have been flying a lot of ad hoc "defense" gangs in 0.0 as the FC.
Unfortunately, I am flying with a lot of T1 pilots, many in T1 cruisers for pvp. We usually also have a dictor and 1-2 HACs with 1-2 interceptors.
We have a situation where we gate camp the entry to our space. Here is my observation - Vagabonds, ceptors, and even Recons can *easily* evade my 10-15 camps.
In two weeks, with about 10 camps, we have only killed a couple ceptors, and that is because of "luck", eg, they uncloak 5km off one of my ships.
I know, I know, I must "suck as an FC" or have "sucky friends". This is partially true. I know, I know, get a Huginn. Also somewhat valid.
But I think it is ridiculous that a single ship (say a Vaga) can *always* escape from 10-15 reasonably well prepared camp.
So I think the default web range should be extended to 10km. This would slightly increase the chance that ships could be tagged on a gate. It would have basically zero effect on haulers, BCs, or any ships other than these ridiculous nano ceptors/vagas.
Some ceptor specs might have to be changed (increase range of their weapons?)

How about... a ceptor with a web and remote sensor boosters?

A large bubble and decent awake ceptor pilots should get the job done.

Do you have an idea on how many dps a vagabond would do at your proposed 26 km range plus a few km of safety range? 5 light unbonused drones of dps.
Do you have an idea on how fast a vagabond dies once it's webbed?

look dude im glad i cant get every ship is see, and yes by giving bonus to webber u make it harder on every body else, what if a vaga jumped u from inside your system with the range bouneses to webbing you ould never kill him, other part is if he is working with other players that are waiting to jump u are screewed, work with what u have and learn how to catch them thats how eve is played

That would be Warp Scramblers. The fact that that is inside 10km (13km overheated) web range has a lot to do with why so few people actually use Warp Scramblers over Warp Disruptors (that and the WCS nerf making lots of spare points unnecessary).
Try: A large bubble (T2 if you can), if you can get a Hyena or two that would help, and you could try getting some Remote Sensor Boosters on something with a few Heavy Neuts and some speed fit suicide frigates with webs. Rifters or Vigils would be good at that, tier 2 speed frigates would also work as the bubble partially obviates the typical requirement of MWD/point/web. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. The correct thing to say is "Fail thread is fail."
Forum Trolling IV should be a working minimum for ships&modules. Sig removed, inappropriate link. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] ~Saint |

Fact is, a decent Minmatar pilot gets the option to get away and so do some of the faster nanoishtars, curses and the like. It isn't just you or your mates failing, its how the game works. There are measures you can take but you need the correct tools and the correct knowledge to use them. The only way to really trap a speed fitted pilot in the know is with 2 dictors and 2 webbers for each side of the gate and even then they stand a pretty good chance of getting out.
Just keep working on it, bubbles, dictors, webbers, neuts etc.. --------------- you all smell! |

I laugh everytime I read a "Boost Web Range" or "Boost Web Power" as a solution to the "nano problem". Web range is deadly for smaller ships vs larger ships, making it more deadly won't stop people nano'ing as there isn't a alternatve for them.
Losing 90% (1 web) or 98% (something like that for 2 webs) = even the slowest of tracking large turrets can hit a cruiser for huge damage.
Unless you just want to make larger ships even better and make smaller ships quite pointless forget about boosting webs. -
