It's not like they haven't changed the mineral "make-up" of some common modules recently, there's little reason to believe they won't do the same with moon minerals. I mean, what's the (gameplay view)point of having a "very rare" material that's less used as a "common" material ?
They DID say (not even that long time ago) that they "will be looking into the make-up of T2 components if the need arises" (back when they released the T2 BSs and the jumpfreighters).
I'd say that need has arisen already. So, yes, I do fully expect them to intervene. But they're notoriously slow on changing stuff, and waiting until the very last moment to do it. So, maybe in another 6 months or so, on the next major patch, or even longer.

You fail to take into account sticky price theory.
A good's price IS NOT CORRELATED with cost.
The cost to produce a good is not relevant to the price it is sold for.

Is this the subforum where we discuss how to MANIPULATE the EVE market to suit our needs or the subforum where we discuss real-world economic theories exclusively ? Just checking...

The thing with economic theory is that if you look through enough of it you can find a theory that supports any view you have. You can find support for anything you wish to basically.
Just as statistics can be used to show anything.
75% in favor of something? 25% are against it! 55% support a certain person, well 45% are saying they refuse to support that person!
Theory is all well and good, but this IS a game... it is not nearly as complex as the RL economy. All of the RL theories are not even true in RL and they are most definitely not all true for EVE.

I'd say that Eve's economy is considerably more complex because game-playing behavior is necessarily a parody of "life-playing" behavior. The nature of comedy is not natural; we cannot merely conflate fun with fitness or utility and expect existing theory to maintain descriptive power.
That said, Shadarle is right, you're all nuts, and I'm off to pewpewpew. ________________________________________________

It's funny; you can tell whoever's playing neodymium is new to reaction manipulations because they haven't hit the simple reactions yet. Please post constructively. ~Saint |

If you can't use theory to manipulate markets... you aren't using the theories properly.

Yeah, they should have hit the whole chain, from raw minerals to simple and even some of the complex reations. Just playing with the raw materials and expecting a change will take at least three months... one month to have the price propagate to simple reations, half a month to see a result in simple reaction price, another month for complex reactions, then half a month for the feedback to the raw materials... and that's the "best case scenario".

You fail to take into account that because dysprosium and promethium are so valuble they are often fought over and alot of isk is lost defending the moons. Neo is not as valuble so it is alot safer and cheaper to mine it.
