That's the important question and I don't know the answer, but it doesn't seem unreasonable for a shipment that will make 100 mil isk to involve more risk than one that will make 100k.
You say this.. like it's possible. Show me a Iteron V EFT build that can stop 6 T1 battleships.
Now show me the net amount of isk AT RISK on the part of the suicide ganker(s).
Until it is possible for the pirate engaged in criminal activity to incur a negative return they experience ZERO risk. It doesn't matter if the ship has 1 veldspar or 3 million dysporsium - the ganker makes a profit. Picking a target is like a miner picking an asteroid.
Suicide ganking is a lower risk activity than mining veldpar in 1.0 systems.

Join a huge Alliance and move to 0.0 space, they are the biggest Care Bears of all. Only have to watch a couple gates and cyno jam everything, leaving vast amounts of space behind them that is secure from grieferĘs.

(Oh, just as an FYI, this "carebear" owns a Drake fitted with all kinds of faction goodies and has the skills to use it. If you see me flying by, please stop and say hello)
So, your fittings cost how much more than your ship?

just got an impel to 75k effective hp.. could prolly hold em off enough
and tbh if you carry enough to be a profitable gank that 6 bs will shoot you in a 100k ship you deserve to die

Originally by: Elysa Madou The nature of the game is unjust? Theres plenty of games where you can just carebear about, doing your mining or crafting and making a profit with no worry of PVP.
Why, then, would you choose EVE if you're so averse to the chance you might be attacked? I'm very curious about this. You do not see PVPers joining PVE games and begging for a way to attack people.. but you see the opposite, people joining PVP and then complaining that they are not safe.
Why is it ok for one side to expect the other to change for them?
Its not ok and carebears need to die in all games. -------------------------------------- [Video]Skirmish Warfare II |

Well the problem is that almost any cargo will be more than enough for their profit, well propably with such fitting needed to reach 75k EHP it will be profitable to gank you without cargo at all.

6k cargo, enough to carry whay you need, yo ucant carry the whole market under your wing without risk, carry smaller loads and you wont be such a big target

2) Current gank tactic is to use a covert ops to jump gank ships in close enough to use smartbombs, scrambler, and disruptor. Aligning isn't going to be enough if you get warp disrupted; two core stabs would give you a chance in a Hulk if you also have a good tank, but that doesn't help any of the barges, which are so weak as to be almost single-shot kills.
On top of that, based on a report in another thread, the present tactics begin with a rookie ship bouncing the target out of alignment before the smart bombers move in. So "stay aligned" as advice is right on a par with "stick straws up your nose".
Although... this does suggest at least one fix. How does it remotely make sense that a Velator should be able to meaningfully dislodge a Hulk's orientation? Yet apparently it can. Does CCP's economist have any friends with a degree in physics?
