There's quite a few people in addition to me who have been affected by the StarbaseList bug. Obviously forum posts aren't doning us any good -- 2Kay doesn't show any signs of reading or responding to these forums.
Probably what's going on is that he has important, higher priority work that's keeping him from looking into this issue. You know, like working on the Minmatar Slave Girl '/dance' emote for the upcoming 'ambulation' release. So we need to get it on his, or other programmers at CCP's radar.
How you do this is file bugs. Someone will review the bugs and classify them, attach the bug report to a defect. Eventually someone will hold a meeting in which a report of all the open bug reports is listed. If we have 75 open bugs attached to the StarbaseList defect, it will stick out. People will ask questions. '/dance' will be temporarily put on hold.
So rather than post another '/signed' message to 2Kay that he (and no-one on the CCP development team) will read to an ignored forum -- file a bug. It will do you some good.

I've filed many a bug about the API, including bugreports for the now-random downtimes and feature requests. Unfortunately, they have all, despite being informative and well written with appropriate debug information and sample XML, been ignored or classified as 'we don't think it's a bug' or so on.
I do agree that bugreports get things fixed, but they're far from being the only solution and to simply report bugs is not the right way to go about finding and solving problems. The more we can do in terms of working things out between ourselves as developers before we hand in reports, the better. If we can say 'well, this looks odd' that's not much help. If we can say 'Well, this should return X but it returns Y in this wrong format and this particular output isn't XML compliant..' that's a whole lot more use to CCP. Why waste the time of developers who have to go through and delete our tickets instead of putting in one or two informative, well written tickets? The forum is the place to troll and discuss, not the bugreporting system.

I am talking to the new Dev incharge of the API later today ... I will make sure he is aware of the starbaseList issue (as I am going to be using it too for some personal development).
Will try to get him to post in this forum with an introduction and some information. CCP Lingorm CCP Quality Assurance QA Engineering Team Leader

New dev?!?!! Woohoo! He should come on IRC too :)
Edit: To the OP, to date I have filed 4 bug reports for the API, 2 of which have not been looked at, and then 2 with standard 'we see no problems'. ------

OK, we spoke. He is working on the bug with the StarbaseList.
He will be posting and introduction and plan for the API when he gets a free moment (either as a dev blog or in this forum).

Edited by: CCP Lingorm on 26/03/2008 11:31:31 OK peeps.
Fix for the starbaselist api went out today.
Can you please test it and let me know that it works ... it seems to work for me but I have limited starbases on TQ *grin*.
Please no RUSH on this api as that will be negative.

Edited by: EveOrg on 27/03/2008 05:42:40 Works for me too now, although there was an apparent change to the StarbaseDetails XML.
In the combatSettings node, the onStandingDrop node used to have an attribute "enabled" which is no longer present. (Not a big problem to fix, especially as I believe the standingDrop setting for POS was dropped in the last patch?)
Quote: <combatSettings> <onStandingDrop standing="10" /> <onStatusDrop enabled="0" standing="0" /> <onAggression enabled="1" /> <onCorporationWar enabled="1" /> </combatSettings>
