We have our home system about 14 jumps from nearest station and we are getting a JF soon.
Instead of wasting fuel when we go too refine at a station we thaught we could do it this way:
We have 1 scout check system before the Jump Freigther jumps through the gate. Incase that scout sees a neutral or red we have another guy in the station system too pop a Cyno and let the JF escape before anything bad might happen.
Is this a valid tactic?

Well if a Heavy Interdictor snags you I beleive that will render the jump drive unable to jump too.
And you don't want to risk a 7 billion ISK ship on a single HIC.

Uh, I'd say just bite the bullet on costs... :)
Safer, and faster. You play the game to have fun - not bite your nails every 4 seconds about whether your 5B ISK toy is going to be safe.

But if a Heavy Interdictor comes does that disable the Jump Drive?

Are you sure? I thought the HIC could only disable you from warping. To stop a ship from jumping you need to get its cap below 75%. ------------- Selling prob BPC's

Yes. I'm reasonably sure that a regular dictor or an interceptor would also keep a Jump Freighter from jumping.
I don't remember seeing ewar immunity on its list of bonuses.

even so, "This allows the module to scramble ships of any size, including ships normally immune to all forms of electronic warfare."

Target system A
Start system B
First 0.4 system C
You get your pvp fleet to C system. To gate between gates B and C. You have your cyno ready at A. He drops cyno at A system. JF jumps from B to C. JF breaks cloak rightaway and jumps away. Fleet goes to system X to gank everyone.
You can't just trust what you see, and I mean that there can be cloaked ships at gate and hostile fleet at station or nearby ready to jump. So that's why you need a fleet there. So you aren't looking so easy target.

Edited by: Tammarr on 26/03/2008 10:05:07 Regular points disable the jumpdrive to if you dont have the immunity: The only realy reason for the heavy dic was to deal with immune motherships(to ewar/scrambling) smartbombing gates and just jumping out if things looked bad.

I cyno out of hi-sec to 0.0 home system on station once the coast is clear. To get back I cyno to lo-sec system on station 1 stargate from hi-sec, i warp to gate and use jumpgate to get safely into hi-sec. at no time am I more than 0 meters from station or jumpgate into hi-sec. And i never have a tool pop a cyno. My 5 billion isk toy is ALWAYS safe. and I always net a tidy profit ;) (when talking about cyno's at a pos it's even safer than a station imo) -Ria
