Edited by: Silverlancer on 15/04/2004 00:37:29 I'm just sick of this.
I have fought many wars in the past, and with each one, I was able to start the instant war was declared. I got a nice EVE-mail saying that I could start killing the other corp, and I did.
But CCP has now implemented another stealth nerf. Now there's a waiting period of 24 hours. But did they tell us? No. Did they put a message into that EVE-mail saying that I have to wait 24 hours? No, it said I could start right now.
And so I attack my enemy in my apoc and the sentries blow me to pieces. I can tell this was a stealth nerf--no one on the Help channel even knew!
And then, to make it even worse, I log off, wait an hour. I log back on in my ibis, and go to pick up the loot from my ship. BUT AS SOON AS I UNDOCK, THE SENTRIES GANK ME! I wait another 30 minutes. Log off, log on. SAME THING! I was hoping I could actually retrieve the loot (as there's enough valuable stuff on there to pay for another apoc most likely!). But no.
If CCP refuses to replace my ship (I'd be willing to buy the equip again), they're simply going to lose my 15 a month. I'm sick of these stealth nerfs. If they're going to change the system, they should at least tell us! And CCP, if you want to keep my 15 a month, ya better answer my petition

Hasn't it always been twenty-four hours? I seem to remember quite a few people mentioning that at some point.
o_O
Probably wrong though; my CEO has only recently declared a war so this will be my first taste of it all.

Nope, I fought Wicked Industries the minute war was declared. Quite rewarding too. I also remember it saying CAN FIGHT: NO under Wars for many many weeks after we declared war, and Concord still let us fight...

Its been a 24 hours wait for..well for ever.
Its not a new thing by any means. I remember wars my corp had 6 month ago that requiresd the 24 hour wait. Mercenary | The Azath |

Strange. But the message is still bugged then. It tells you that your corp has declared war, which by definition means you can shoot the opposing corp. It should have a note about it. How are players supposed to know how the game works if CCP never tells them?

The War section in the corp tools tells you when the war is sanctified and you can attack.
Until the "CAN ATTACK" section has a "YES" in it, not a "NO" dont attack Mercenary | The Azath |

the 24 hour wait after war declaration has almost always been in place for eve release. if in the past u were able to fight before the 24 hour period then perhaps it was a bug, or u were located in 0.0 space.
ccp did not change anything, you lost your apoc fair and square- and complaining u did not know the rules is rediculous for a player who has as much experience as you must have.

But the thing is, I fought my last war entirely while a NO was up there . It turned YES last week, over 2 months after it was declared.

SPLOIT! SPLOIT! SPLOIT!
Sorry, couldn't resist...
The 24 hour delay has been there for at least 8 months or so.
Ciao, Aronis!

Soooo.... what you're saying is that some bug got fixed and you're mad?
AFAIK the 24 hour waiting period has been around a long time. Wouldn't surprise me if it's been broken... but still... I don't see how a bugfix can be considered a nerf ;-) Esp. if the war is listed as canfight=NO. |

Gotta check that corp war board. It has always worked for us...declare war > 24 hours later war board says 'yes' and the fireworks start. Been like that for a long long time now and is common knowledge.
As for your first war, I don't know why it never turned to 'yes' for you, but we have had instances where some members had a 'yes' and some still had a 'no'...but that usually only lasted and hour or so until everyone got updated. ------------------------------------------------

The Concord thing is another matter...
It used to be you could sit in space for 15-20 mins, I was away from Concord, in my pod post being ganked by them, waited a good 25 mins to be sure, docked, re-shipped, undocked - GANK!
Hmm, something wrong here thinks I, grabbing the insurance money (again)...
Stayed in my pod, jumped to another system, docked, bought new ship, undocked and no Concord problems...

Hey Silver, I read somewhere that your not supposed to log of and wait. You're suppossed to dock at station and wait 30 minutes there without logging off in order to not get shot as soon as you undock. I forgot where I read it but I belive it was from a GM. So the waiting time has to be while you're still logged in the game.
Oh yeah, you wont belive what happened to me last night. A terrible dissaster. I'll tell you about it tonight.

The CONCORD timer seems screwed up. I have seen it several times now not work as it seemingly is supposed to.
I saw a guy make a mistake and nail a friend (non-corpmate) while mining trying to defend him with a missile and CONCORD ganks he. He is told by everyone to not get near anything for 15 minutes. 20 minutes later he undocks and *boom*.
So he waited 30 minutes just to be sure this time. Undock, *boom*.
This time to be extra sure he waited 105 minutes. Undocks, *boom*.
At that point he was just thoroughly ****ed off and logged. Downtime seemed to correct the issue.
Note that is one example, I have seen a few more examples in the last few weeks and heard of even more.
If this is a bug CCP should return whatever you lost due to the timer being borked. If it is a 'feature' then CCP needs to clue us in on it.
As for the war timer I have to agree with everyone else that it has been a 24h wait as long as I can remember.

MAXIMO, a few days ago I attacked someone in 1.0 space (accidental) and CONCORD got me. As per advice from HELP forum, I docked my pod at the nearest station, got my new ship, waiting for over 1 HOUR, all while staying online (I went to watch TV or something). I undock, boom CONCORD gang rapes me... Only after I left the system then came back shortly after, did they stop

Ah okay. I never killed any players before so I would'nt know first hand. But I do remember reading something about what I said before. I guess that does'nt work either(what I said I read).

Edited by: Acix on 15/04/2004 17:21:14 It has always been 24 hours. But something I have noticed lately is after the vote for war dec. it seems to take about 2 extra days. The "dec-then vote-then dec goes through" doesn't seem to work right. We have petitioned and petitioned about this. But its not a pressing issue so no one has ever contacted us. It sucks because the last one took 4.5 days to go into effect. Merc's make their living off wars and killing. So for us this is something that needs to be fixed ASAP. Nothing pi$$es me off more than waiting 2 extra days to make some money.........
SNIGG is now officially open for business. We are a merc corp looking for contracts. For more info click below http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=68313 |
