Hi there.
On my way back to my corp HQ last night I was browsing the Map and was looking at the "Point of No Return" area of space. I'm intrigued by this, and the explorer in me is begging to check it out. My question is: Has anyone been to this area, and if so, what'd you see?
As I said before, I'm thoroughly intrigued and I'd really like to hear your experiences.

I heavily guess you mean the lump of regions in the upper right corner. There are 3 blobs of regions (and one system) that have no connection to the rest of EVE.
The two regions closest to the rest of EVE, with stations, is the Jove empire. They might or might not be introduced as a maybe player usable race in a possible expansion pack one day, soon(tm)ish.
Then there's the extra system, with 7 stations, called "Polaris". That's the home system of the polaris volunteers.
And then there are two region blobs I have no idea about. One is the single, disconnected region named "UUA-F4" in the far upper right. I have absolutely no idea what there is. No stations, in any case.
Also, theres a lump of 7 regions to the far right - I also have no clue what that is good for. It might be that new bloodline thing said to come with Shiva? No clue, also no stations there.
And yes, people have been to Jove space using a nice little clone warping trick. It's pretty empty there, however
Ciao, Aronis!

Edited by: Lyzander on 15/04/2004 02:32:21 No, she's referring to a point of interest label on the map located to the "East" of Molden Heath:
Quote: Point of no Return is a small black hole located not far from empire space. The black hole is rather old and was formed by a sun only just large enough to create a black hole when it collapsed. One interesting fact about it is that itĘs located more or less exactly in the center of the known world, if you only count those systems that have been linked with star gates.
EDIT: Erm, that came out a bit harsh. Your post was super helpful, just not what I think she was looking for.

Edited by: Lysender on 15/04/2004 02:50:39 Just remember when the CCP say the word "SOON" They really mean it will happen within a year or manybe 5.
Nice name, Lyzander.

I remember someone on the boards has a sig saying something along the lines of:
"Soon is an ancient icelandic word meaning ½sometime before the next ice age+."
And nice name indeed.
I was Lysander in beta, but although I got Eve 3rd day of retail, someone had already jacked my name... *shakes fist*
Guess we won't have to worry about 2 "Lysander"'s in FA anymore though?

You can see it on the map as one of those rectangular icons.
Where did you get that definition from, Lyzander? |

Can't imagine what sort of idiot would come up with a daft signature like that.
_______ "Soon" is an ancient Icelandic word meaning "some time before the next Ice Age." |

Actually depending on how real they keep physics I don't think its something that even I would like to go play with... Black holes are generally bigger than me and don't play nice

OK. So I gave up on the Point of No Return, and instead head out to the Gilgotha Fields and have a blast taking out some Angels and looking at the debris and wrecks. Afterwards I decide to try and find the Gillungagap, aka the biggest black hole in the EVE galaxy. The map description states that it is clearly visible from the Kuruna (spelling?) system. I finally arrive there, and there's nothing out of the ordinary. I spend an hour scanning, lining up according to the map, and nothing!
It turns out (according to someone in Local) that CCP removed it for some reason or another. Has anyone seen this black hole or tried looking for it?
Does anyone know anything about this mysterious phenomena?! |
