I've given up trying to keep my sec at -1.90 or higher im going yarrin any tips on how to avoid screwing my toon over??

dont pop the alts in NPC corps you might wanna mission for one day.

only shoot things worth killing
not every single shuttle, noobship and macro hauler that comes by. leave that to the people who want to be -10.

doesn't the op say he given up trying to keep his sec down
kill em all then ransom the pod, the small ships are normally carrying the expensive items tbo.
The bonus side to this, is all the fan mail you will recieve making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside 
The only issue is obtaining replacement ships, a good bunch of m8's with uber alts sorts that 
Piracy saved my game as i was about to quit 4 months ago, -10 is sexy

And make sure you've moved all your stuff out of empire, sucks to have rigged battleships you can't move out.
Have a freighter/hauler alt ready - It's possible to train a bestower alt with ~13K - 15K cargo space in about 20 minutes.

I went outlaw without moving all my crap out of empire, and now antodias has to run around all day in a hauler moving my stuff for me while i run about having fun, dont end up like antodias, move your stuff before you go outlaw.

Actually, I got a director to move my stuff for me, while you got your roles removed.

-10? Soddit I'm going for -11. A whole 1 lower. Its going to be great.
-9.997 at the moment.. I accidently killed 6 frig rats and lost 0.002 It'l take me hours to get that back (or minutes with a few well placed smartbombs in ingunn)

Getting to -10 isn't as easy as it sounds. It gets difficult, just as it is more difficult going from -3 to -1, it's even more difficult to go from -9 to -10.
Once you get there, and be part of a gang that kills a rat in 0.0, you might find yourself at -9.8 instantly.
You have to kill, a lot of pods, and I mean a fair number of them to get to -10, and you can't kill any rats or run any mishes to keep it there.
Unless you go to sell your toon, -10 isn't going to "screw" you over. -10 on a toon might render a lower cost to many people as it's an added liability and condition to get it above -1.9. But if you plan on keep the toon yourself, then it's just a matter of travel constraints and traveling around -10 is no different than -5.
So basically, if you are used to being flashy, go for it. -10 strikes fear into the hearts of n00bs like no other! >:)

Been -9.999 sooo many times in the last few months... rats get on my nerves easily though, so I'll nevr get the perfect -10

Make sure you have a character that can fly you ships when needed. Tho you won't lose too many ships **** does happen and you will need a new ship here and there.
Other always use a scout and you're set.

If you want true -10 just sit somewhere safe repping an outlaw...ever 15min, sec status hit.
