Is there a guide on how to run a Corp? I can't find one when I search for it. Can anyone help a new Corp on what to do, what does what, and how to set things up? Thanks!

Yah, you invite chinese bots and raise tax to 100%. Then report them of course.
Thats the best way.

Edited by: AfterShock on 28/03/2008 00:52:56 I could write a book if I felt like spending the time.
The number one thing is, you got to be a trusted CEO.
As far as setting up:
There are Titles you can create in the corp menu. Set up roles and rights for titles, then assign titles to your members. this way instead of editing members individualy,, you just have to edit the titles.
organize your hangers (you only have 7 divisions) in a way you feel your corp will need.
Dont trust anyone.
As far as recruitment: Dont bloat your corp with inactive alts. Clean up once a few months of those who just cant seem to be active.
That's all I feel about typing right now. Hope this helps.

Yeah but what does every roll do? For example, I have a member that wants to drop a container in space for the Corp, but I can't figure what rolls or privledge to give them.
As good thing would be to know what each roll gave what to a member.

You have to be a hero to your corp-mates, more than a hero, a legend, like me. -------

Unfortunately you cant keep them inside a corp anymore with the semi-recent changes to giving and receiving of roles. (not that I would know anything about that though )

1. forget democracy 2. kick drama queens at once if they appear 3. form a junta (democratic corps are short lived) 4. allways keep as many shares that makes it impossible fore the opposition to take control 5. dont use corp coffers as a extended personal wallet. 6. a good ceo is basicly broke all the time (dont forget to say it often in corp) 7. lock down corp bpo's and can's with assets 8. paranoia is your friend 9. reward the active and stable members to encurage others to partisipate 10. be even more paranoid

set your own goals. .. invite people who have the same ideas.. have fun..
I would like to add that setting goals is one if not the most important things to run a corp.. also be active your self.. and set example..
small things where people can work to and makes team bonding and people willing to stick there necks out..
If you like mining , mine as an corp and get everyone in to a bs. as people will get rewarded theyw ill like the effort..
small things.. untill you get more experienced.. and can set larger goals..

It actually sucks so do what a lot of us do,
1. start a corp.
2. gain some members.
3. find an ego maniac that craves attention and e-power.
4. give afore mentioned nutter roles and control over time while keeping his ego stroked and keeping the important roles to yourself for security.
5. find a few more of these individuals over time and place them in recruitment, pos management and other essential but boring jobs.
6. Have weekly "PRIVATE" and pointless meetings where these guys can bleat on about there responsibilities and feel important.
7. If they ever say they are sick of there jobs immediately call an emergency meeting (as it is proly a cry for a bit of extra attention) and go to work on the e-peen by pointing out how hard there job is and how they could maybe be in need of some staff, then refer them to the dude who deals with recruitment.

- As said ... no drama queens allowed. Put people that complain too much for a block or just throw them out upfront. - Please, forget democracy. It doesn't work longterm. 3-4 characters with power is sufficient. Delegate to them, not to others. - A regular corp member does not need roles. Don't trust anyone too soon. -----------------------------------------------

Brilliant!
I've a noob alt on it's own corp who's never done anything and everytime I log it on it's been spammed with applications.
Maybe I'll start to accept them an build up a mini empire!
