I've recently updated my suspended trial account to a full account. It has been a month or two since my trial ended. And now after I've installed the Trinity 1.1 patch my screen starts to flash with black and white triangles in different sizes. If i press Ctrl + F9 to remove my HUD the flashing stops, but as soon as I bring it back up the flashing continues. If I press Alt + Tab and minimize EVE and then bring it back up the flashing dissapears, but after a few minutes it's back. If I quit EVE and start it back up it can start flashing anytime, sometimes it takes just a few minutes and sometimes it doesn't start for several hours.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me out here. Thank you

For some reason it have barely happened since I started this topic, if it happens again I'll try to get a good screenshot of it.

this almost sounds like your video card is over heating. What kind of video card do you have? I say this because I had the fan go out on an old video card of mine, and I was having somewhat similar glitches like your describing. Also the "coming and going" of the problem sounds a bit strange, which also makes me think it could be an over heating problem. These are just guesses tho.
Have you experienced any visual glitches on any other high end graphic games?

I haven't played any other graphic intesne games on my computer for a long time. But when I did I didn't have any problems with it. I tried to get a picture of it and so far this is the best one I've got: http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p54/Skull_134D3R/?action=view¤t=EVEflash1.jpg Look at the Journal-box. Sometimes it looks like that over 1/5 of the screen.

i might be jumping to conclusions here, but this might be related to the problem 9800 GX2 users are having...
at a random time, usually co-inciding witha special effect (gate activation, gunfire etc), the screen will go flickering grey, with the game visible through it (just) - or in your case, triangles. In both instances, alt tabe out and back in and you're good again, although sometimes the CCP just stops working, and crashes with 9800's.
try reverting back to classic graphics, it's not a great fix, but it gets the game running again, at least for the 9800 gx2 users.
I'd be interested in finding out if this is the same problem manifesting itself differently on different video cards... perhaps it's the issue that's causing drastic loss of frames on yet other PC's? i may be linking unrelated things, but i'd rather it was one graphical issue with 2 or 3 manifestations than 3 seperate graphical issues :D

Edited by: Jigoku Shiya on 14/04/2008 13:05:28 Yes, it usually happens when I'm warping or battling pirates etc. I've got a radeon x1600. |
