Is it possible to use a interceptor for tacking targets in a .4 system on the gate? Is it fast enough to avoid enough damage from the gate guns long enough for your friends to warp in and take the target out?

Gate guns don't have tracking. They have insta pop
If your target is -5.0 or lower you'd be fine ------------

So what would the smallest fasting locking Caldari ship you could use on a gate? Passive Drake with lots of boosters?

if its passive you wouldn't need boosters shield, cap, or drug wise

Sensor Boosters marcus... lol.
Onyx or Drake work well if you only fly caldari, you can get an Eagle or even a Moa to tank sentries and point things pretty quick... I'd have to go with the Onyx though ------------

I used to use a dual sensor boosted harb until I got my Heavy dictor. With gang bonuses and dual boosters, you achieve over 800 scan res. You can catch the majority of frigates this way.
Try having a heavy dictor on the gate, with a few midslot-free ships fitting remote sensor boosters. Also, fit 2x warp field generators on it, so you have 2x infinite points on the gate.
( for those who cant comprehend why you would need to dual infinite point a target, you wouldn't... think about it more ).

Your signature is too large. Please resize it to a maximum of 400 x 120 with the file size not exceeding 24000 bytes. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Mitnal |

Seriously, after using the Onyx for gate warfare, it really feels like that ship was actually designed to sit on a gate and tank/tackle. Nothing could do a better job (for Caldari, at least).

Rook works well with 2 sensor booster and 1 point. I used this during my pirate years.. got most things and can tank pretty well but you will need sum wingmates for defo as it cant tank a constant gate cycle. Maybe 1 or 2 cycles but then your screwed

add a basilisk to the equation and sensor boost/remote sensor boost the ceptor to hell.
Actually, this as a webbing boat combined with a HIC on teh gate would be epic. Real good way to counter those MWD'ing command ships

You gotta keep the basilisk alive also, but it's possible ------------

Edited by: Jogvan on 29/03/2008 02:29:56 I haven't tried this myself, but if you only want to gank 1 ship at gate and need a quick lock you could have a bigger ship on gate and have it agress something as your target jumps in. The ceptor will then have a few seconds to tackle and get out before sentries switch target.
For camping a HIC would be the obvious choice.
Edit: I have actually used Drake sometimes for camping, 2x sensor boosters and 2x scram. Even managed to tackle some slow frig with it

Any ship designed to tackle with triple remote sensor boosting works for what you want.
You could use a Scorpion to do the remote sensor boosting:
3x Shield Power Relay Damage Control Unit
3x Remote Sensor Booster 2x Invulnerability Field 3x Large Shield Extender
4x Torpedo Launchers/Cruise/whatever weapons you want so you can be on the killmail 2x remote reps for buddies
Rigs: 3x Core Defence Field Purgers
Drones: Just carry a crap load of expendable drones to draw off sentry fire.
You will passive tank 324 dps (enough to deal with sentrys by yourself).
Remote sensor boost your tackling friend. __________________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game.
