Night started off with Tortuga wanting to take a poke at IAC. We came in, got a warp in on TT's Archon. He went into Triage and tanked about 1.5m hp before exploding.
We warped over to the station and chewed on the cloning service while waiting to see what would happen next. Finally, we went back over to the cyno jammer and started pounding on it a bit. I think we had it to about half armor when the first IAC reinforcements started to arrive from Catch. We did a couple warp ins to the 4-07 gate, then jumped into 4-07 to kill a few targets.
By now IAC had about 30 BS and 40 support in 49-U on the 4-07 gate. We jumped in and had it out for a bit until we got word that about 50-60 IRON were on the way in. So, we moved off the gate and regrouped because KIA was coming in with about 45 of their own right behind IRON.
After about 5 mins, we warped back to the 4-07 gate at zero and engaged at long range. KIA jumped in and went for everything at short range. The fight lasted until Tortuga held the field. It looks like KIA got hit hardest of us. Lag was absolutely horrid until about the last 5 mins of the fight.
With all the boards being sync'd up it looks like overall we might come out slightly behind on the BS kill count but ahead on overall kills plus holding / looting the field. Yes, TT lost an Archon, a Paladin and a Bhaalgorn.
We came for a Friday Night Fight, got one and left happy.
Thundirr, I tried to target you about five times but it looks like you lived. Much love, man!

Shut up tim
Seleene's report is wrong in that they actually warped in to kill a Thanatos, but accidentally bumped him into our POS shields, then I decided to test my triage, but was silly and didn't refit for more cap recharge at one of the other carriers first, tanked their entire fleet no problem with both reps going but setup didn't have enough cap for that, and no smartbombs fitted ;O oops.
We did some nice damage to them in the first engagement when they jumped to 49-u from 4-07 after trying to nail our reinforcements, but they got skittish when IRON was approaching from Catch, got a bunch of kills there, then they warped back in when KIA was close by and we slugged it out for a bit.
Unfortunately when KIA arrived they outgunned and outnumbered us so we eventually pulled out after taking heavy losses.
I think numbers started with 100 in their gang, maybe 70 of which were BS, at that point we only had around 60 in system and another 30-40 elsewhere, when we finally got reinforcements in we were up to maybe 80-90 (30-40? bs) active in IAC gang. IRON had 60 person gang that showed up after initial gate engagement started, 30 of which were BS.
KIA had about 40 and I think approx 30 of those were BS
I would guess Tortuga lost ~60 BS in total, and we lost ~40 + carrier
PS; wtb bhaalgorn bpc =) PPS; I loaded system in my pod despite the really heavy passive tank on it ;( never got to activate dmg control even, guess that'll teach me to jump instead of warp into a big fight on a gate !
(11:12 PM) IRONPuppetmasterX: k here is the count from iron, 60 in gang (30 bs) 60bs kills, 16bs losses,39 losses overall

Edited by: Tehyarec on 28/03/2008 23:37:55 It was a great fight, took a full hour at least. It was interesting, it was hard to tell who was winning. Initially Tortuga left the gate and we were holding it, but then they came back in full force. And soon it was KIA incoming... in the heat of the battle I didn't even realize that IRON came in to help us Someone did mention reinforcements, but I thought they meant more of us IAC guys. I think someone also had friends in high places, since even some Blood Archons etc joined the fray at one point!
Anyway, lag was quite bad for me the whole fight, I missed sooo many targets because of this, even if I could target, guns wouldn't activate. And even if I did get some guns on a target, it was usually like one or two, so end damage was crappy
I was also forced to warp out three times total, and took plenty of damage, being remote repped at times. In a KIAEddz fit I would've died three times over (He lost a second Mega soon after near F4R btw.)
The killmails are still flooding in, so will take a while to sort out who inflicted the most casualties on who. Suffice to say, without TT's heroic deaths ( ) we would've been way better off in the way of isk loss. On a personal level I lived through an op with a Megathron, which is almost unheard of so far. Was close though, for the last two minutes of the fight I was trying to warp out, barely made it out in the end.
Overall, a great fight, and would've been a truly epic fight if not for lag. Kudos to all sides for slugging it out. Hopefully more to come

This.
Looking at the killboards, Tortuga quite heavily outblobbed IAC/IRON and still ended up losing. Ofc, with TT suiciding some expensive stuff and Tortuga holding the field due to blobbage, IAC suffered a heavier isk loss. Am I forced to have any regret? Friday night Fight in 49-U
The evening starts as I roll in from work. It was one of those rainy days that lasted forever. Tired and ready to relax I plopped down in my chair with a handy bag of chips and a soda. I got up to speed on all the forum goodness then decided to log on for the IAC free for all cruiser tourney I had planned for 20:00.
First thing I notice it TS full of ppl with TT on command. Was like hmm ok.
A 90+ ODD gang was lurking near 49- and we expected an attack so like a good FC I got involved and immediately went to the sidelines as TT and Hachou had things well in hand. So I sat on my gunner alt at the tower and helped shoost stuff.
Boring stuff then TT: ôIm gonna go out and enter Triageö
Rolling my eyes and knowing the Archon is dead already I shrug and keep trying to shoot shipsà
TT pops..
I was kindof disconnected from all the action until system lag went through the roof. I hopped down to the fleet channel and got this:
Hachou: ôEveryone stay in the fight, spread points and stay till you die. Dictors bubbles up. BS target alphabetically.ö
I ctrl-q the gunner and put Thundirr into primary mode.
Evidently ODD with some MC guys were having a go at our fleet on the 4-0 Gate.
Bleh: I warp to 0 on the 4-0 gate with my HICà. 5+ min later I come out of warp.. 10 min later my overview loads and the field is a complete wreck. Drones and wrecks everywhere with IAC holding the field. Reds were gone and for the moment we were holding. ODD/MC had warped out.
Intel reported KIA coming in from Fat area with mixed Iron and possibly RA inbound as backup. IAC reinforcements formed up and we were ready for another go.
Then the battle hits overdrive.
KIA Jumps and ODD/MC join the frey.
The next 30+ min is 1-5min lagà Twice I activated my armor rep as I was taking some shield.. Armor rep showed red but stayed on till my cap was gone *not happy* bubble drops for about 2 min while I wait for the module to reactivate.
We were holding even or so it seemed. The field stretched for an easy 300k with green/grey wrecks everywhere with a swarm of drones blotting out everything. Telling how many friendlies were alive/dead/pods was near impossible. The best we could do was keep mowing through the enemy BS fleet and getting reinforcements warp ins.
JZVSecurity was being spammed and IAC pilots were coming to 49- as fast as possible. KIA were getting hammered and we were holding off ODD/MC at least temporarily.
Several times my devoter went down to 50%à damn scorpion was on me for 20+ min but we were always able to keep the gate semi clear with 5-8 red BS within 30k of gate. The rest of the hostile BS were at least 100+ engaged at the sniper sling. 3 IAC FCs were calling primaries for different ranged ships so TS was kindof crazy but in the organized way.
I was working the Gate with Gomez working the snipers and Hachou doing overall sit rep and evidently dueling VileLust Rapier on Rapier.
Things were going kindof well with an emeny BS popping pretty quickly.
The turning point for this fight was when the ODD reinforcement group came back into the fight at cose range. Overview BS numbers doubled. And the gate went from 5-10 bs with in 30k to easily 30+.
When you have 40+ bs within 15k of you.. its probably not good.
IAC was given the order to warp out which due to lack of good cross communication resulted in several IRON guys left behind.
I knew I was dead with that much around me so I kept the bubble up and used the 5 fighters I had to best advantage.. I saw at least 2 tempests and possibly one mega pop after the IAC fleet left. Amazingly enough I was the last IAC ship to go down from that fight. *figured id be primaried well before this point*
At this point I got jammed and primaried by at least 20+ BS.. I died.. and it wasnÆt pretty.

I have only done a quick look but there is more than 40 losses to tortuga from MC and odd boards alone, i also assume that the 70 kills on each board are broadly the same ....

I pod jumped through to 4-0 just to get out without getting popped. The IAC fleet was regrouping at a POS with the fight pretty much over.
As the field settled down MC/ODD/KIA set up camp on the 4-0 gate to sort the loot, since we were pretty much cut of from quick reinforcements we just had to sit tight and enjoy the afterglow of an awesome adrenalin packed fight.
As the enemy fleet broke up and with MC/ODD going back home KIA decided to make a run back to Sendeya. I figured wth and IAC gave chase using JBs to burn back to F4 we caught the MC fleet and cut their BS numbers in half with no losses. *side note. Props to KIAeddz on the run to VA6. 4 more KIA BSÆs down to top off the night.
From the IAC KB on the day: (these numbers are as close to accurate from the IAC side of things as I can get and since our KB feeds from multiple KBs and does an API feed from corp directors its fairly accurate.) Bad part is I cant tell how much of this is just from the 49- fight.
Kills: 167 ISK Killed: 13.5b
Losses: 156 ISK Lost: 14b *** these numbers are still changing due to mails being posted. So dont quote it as gospel.
Every single pilot I spoke with had a blast. I know the numbers really donÆt matter for this engagement. We all had fun and it was well worth the experience. Props to KIA, MC, and ODD, and to that pesky TS spys.. man the TS spys deserve some cookies too!

Edited by: KIAEddZ on 29/03/2008 00:05:42 KIA Report.
Assembled in Sendaya at about 2000. 38 KIA BS and 6 hevay tackle. My battleships was assmebled from what was on sale in local and my base remote repping setup, much to the amusement of others hehe
We set out, at about 14 jumps to go, we hear that Torts have already engaged!
Then Torts were forced to withdraw as an Iron gang jumped in to aid IAC.
As we arrived on the gate, Torts warped back in and re engaged the hostile fleet.
The first KIA Pilot to load was a full 5mins seconds after jump in order given, it took me over 9 minutes to see the grid. Wehn it loaded I saw we were in deep doo doo. KIA were right on the gate, in the middle of the entire blob of hostiles, it was obvious at that point that we were gonna take very heavy losses.
None the less we loaded the Short range ammo, and got to work on the BS sat at the gate. For the first few minutes NO KIA bs was targetted, but in return very few of s could lock, and even fewer activate modules on teh primaries. For what seemd like an eternity A Sinner was the primary in his Mega, but eventually some red began to show, and he went down.
Target after target was called, and in a lg free environment, they would of been dispatched in a matter of seconds, but it was taking 2,3,4 5 minutes to get rid of a primary as we struggled to get locks. Desync was heavy, with targets still being seen on grid, in a whole ship by teh FC and being counter called as dead or warped by others.
Slowly the battle turned in Torts tide, we had around 150 on the field, and local was at 310, i would guess looking at the kbs that numbers were roughly equal, although we had about 15-20 more BS than them.
We eventually held the field, as IAC + Iron withdrew. We scooped the prize, a few bill in loot, and headed home.
To those speculating on teh motivation for this offense tonight, it isnt rocketscience, neither is it tin foil time. Tortugans have taken excpetion to Tyrrax bad mouthing, threats and general ass hattery in recent weeks. He seemd like a good target for a joint op, and to get rid of the cobwebs.
Thx to fellow tortugans, 100 BS+ raised in very short notice is v nice. Gf tonight all involved. Cya again v soon IAC n chums.

Why do you post on CAOD at all ? People like you are the reason IAC frowns on non-leadership postingl.
Just to get this straight, you're supporting (your?) alt that claims I can't count, but you agree with my numbers of kills /losses ?
Tortuga had over 100 BS, IAC+IRON had maybe 70, you also had considerably more people involved in the engagement, according to all of Tortuga's killboards, your guys weren't the only ones reshipping. (I'm listed 3 times f.i.)
But hey good job outnumbering, outgunning and outaltposting us, but somehow managing to lose much more than us anyway.

OK I gotta call you on this Thorkk.
Numbers were roughly equal, we had about 20 more BS than you, but actual pilots was about equal, and the fact that your guys were dying and getting back into the fight pretty quickly with a new ship kinda evened it all out.
I know you trying to claim some sort of huge victory for IAC here dude, but its just coming of as a bit well... desperate
Chill, say gf etc, and let your people enjoy it, instead of having to be made to look in need of some plaudits.
Take a look at Thunderr, his post is how you do it.
