What is this "real" world you speak of?
It's a big, bright place full of people.. yes, real people. It's over rated.. but it has girls in it!

I'm not sure, but I hear the graphics are great.
What about death penalty? I like to play hardcore.

Well...
Unfortunately, although I have maybe 20 hours per week spare for EVE it tends to be in short bursts, so 0.0 life with its 5-hour military ops is not for me at the moment.
So I get bored sometimes. Lately, I have started getting into X3; it has a learning curve even steeper than the one of EVE, but the graphics are MUCH better and, from the little I've seen of it the economics are more complex as well - it is quite possible to set up your own little industrial empire. Which is a good thing, because it's single-player of course!
I have thought for a long time that the industrial and economic side of EVE gets short shrift from the developers compared to PvP combat; also, conduct that other companies would call cheating is positively encouraged by the devs. However, EVE is essentially the only game in town at the moment when it comes to space MMORPGs, so here I stay. For now. If and when competition starts up for EVE, it will be very interesting to see how many players desert it for the competition. I thought when joining this game that it would be multiplayer Elite; that it certainly is not.

I mine. I have a large screen turned sideways, and watch tv series or browse the internet in the lower half.

I wipe my memory with some home made electroconvulsive therapy. You can do this with only a fork and a crappy toaster. Put some padding on the floor behind you though because you are going to launch like a paradise cruise missile.
