I know there is no such thing as perfect ME now, but I'd like to know what changed so I can orient my researching better?

Something I am missing from your post.
If a BPO says MAX RUN 500, doesn't it mean you can't run more than 500 at once? I hear people are doing more than it says!

Quoted from the linked thread. Maximum runs is not listed on the BPO, you'll have to calculate it manually.
The BPO however does list a "Production limit", which is the maximum number of runs a copy of the blueprint can have.

Number of licenced runs remaining = the number that BPC has left
Production Limit = the maxium number of runs a COPY can be made to have
Maximum you can build at once = 30 days worth or 1 run (whichever is longer), this is not listed on the BPO.
Perfect ME is now what it was before x the number of runs you are doing. However it will soon be changed to always round up, and so there will never be a perfect ME again. Basically reduce it to an acceptable level of waste and then just deal with the fact that you will have that waste.
