I just got the ability to use mah Raven with some level of skill and have come to the conclusion that I can't stand it's maneuverability. I jumped in cruiser to do some errands and felt like I was free from an oppressive rule it was so much more agile. What are my options (if any) for doing level 3 or 4 (level 4 not required, but would be nice) missions as far as fast ships go? I have looked into the Assault Ships and they seem fairly nice, but I don't know if they could hold up well in a mass aggro situation. The Heavy Assault ships would be OK if I could keep them agile.
So am I stuck in this clumsy Raven or is there hope without training for years?

Heavy assault cruisers can do level threes fine. Not sure about level fours, though. --------

Typhoon is quite a fast ship (for a BS) Can do level 4 easily. With your raven skills you might want to try a passive tanked phoon.

Have a look at the Machariel, it's a faction battleship with a cruise-like topspeed, though not as agile.

I know what you mean about heavy slow oppressive ships. I prefer the smaller faster more agile ships.
If your like me as well, and easily bored and want instant results, maybe gunnery would suit you? Think about that, from what you've said might help - or I might be imposing what I find fun on you.
HAC wise... level 3's were easy in a Zealot. Dunno about the other HAC's as I've not used them in missions. Guess they might/maybe/possibly hold up as well. *shurg* I can do *some* level 4's in a zealot, but can't see that it would hold up to mass tank required in all of them. It could just be the way I like to go into a mission and aggro everything.... Guess you'd be looking at the Cerb/Eagle as a Caldari flier, and I can't fly those...
One thing I do from time to time in level 3's is to use an interceptor. Sure it's not efficent blah blah blah, but it's great fun. Some level 3's are easily blitz'ed in an inty if you're not worried about bounties/loot. Think of the Seven mission, level 3, you just got 2 NPC cruisers to kill. Sure they're are other ships and turrets floating about, but speed tank past the garbage and kill the two cruisers.
The other thing to think about is running missions as a pack in smaller ships. I've done this from time to time and is kinda fun. Easy version is to get an inty to aggro pretty much everything and start running. Mates in AF's then start killing as a pack. Very nice to do in 0.0 when you're bored of camping a station =P Audita et altera pars |

I fly level 4s (and did level 3s) in a nanoed up ishtar, its great.
470 guaranteed dps from OGRE IIs, i do 1200m/s so nothing can catch and hit me (take out spider drones insta).
i just run drone link augs so you can send drones out to 120km, a sensor booster with range, AB, large cap battery and recharger for cap sustainability, MAR2 as only tank, and explo hardener on angel missions, rest nano, or stuff to make drones go faster.

You can pull of level threes without too much difficulty in an AF, if you're looking for a fast ship to do them in, but only if you have alot of skills backing it up. |
