For ratting in 0.0 would a Dominix or a Myrmidon be a better choice?
Ratting Sansha if it matters.

So you ask what's better, a BC or a BS ?
in high 0.0 (0.0 to -0.1) you should survive in a BC, but going lower means some serious BS spawns, and I don't think it's worth trying in a BC.

I'd say zealot is the best option then an ishtar, anything bigger is gank bait.

And for ratting Serpentis or Angels in 0.0, what ships would you prefer?

Ishtar : U can drop your drones on the rats and take some distance. And there is no Serpentis BS that will resist 5 Ogre II DPS

If your only choices are the myrmidon or Dominix I would use the Domi. You can carry more drones, and you have the bandwidth to launch 5xheavy drones, something the myrm is no longer capable of. Many of the harder BS spawns in 0.0 will require 5xheavies to take down.
Also the dominix has a better tank than the myrm. It is slower and easier to gank if you're caught ratting, but if you're caught it doesn't really matter what you're in if the pilot is competent.
If you can fly the ishtar I recommend it over both the myrm and domi. It's smaller sig radius means it won't take much damage from the larger spawns, and you can still field a full complement of heavy/medium/small drones. Also you stand a much better chance of escaping an attemped gank with the ishtar.

A passive shield tanked Myrm will tank all 0.0 spawns easily  A conventional one seams to do alright too.

I know it's not what you asked for, but just felt like pointing out that ratting in a BC in 0.0 ain't that serious business. I rat in 0.0 with a Harbinger. It's easy as hell.

And i ask:
it's so important to talk about the ship to kill a rat, as the fact that in 0.0 sure a pirate or a gang of pirates can gank you?
i agree with ASF in the fact it's more important to remember that u are in 0.0 for other players that by the rats u find...
it's the main reason why i don't go to lowsec with 13M SP unitil i finish all the missiles/shield/cap/drones skills i want to have...
