Just looking for some information really on the changes to bp wastage (Rounding up)
on a random bp I've got it states that it will use; 73 Units of Mex Per Run
now normaly i would put all this into a spreadsheet and work out how meny units of mex would be needed for say.. 1000 runs. The problem is for 1000 units instead of 73,000 units of mex it takes 73,456.
Now i know this is becuase of the rounding up change, but if the bpo only displays "73" units (without the .XX info) how am i ment to work out the real ammount needed before i try to put it into production :S
is there anyway i can get a more exact (Eg 73.15) reading from the bp. Thanks for reading, ty o7

Edited by: Caeli Maren on 31/03/2008 19:31:10 I think your problem is that your waste isn't exactly 0.62%
I expect you have a bpo with ME15. The waste of most bpos at me15 is .1/16 = .00625, or WasteFactor / (1 + MineralEff)
if you use .00625 as the waste, the numbers work out properly...
73 * (1 + .00625) * 1000 = 73456.25, or 73456.
No ceiling is ever needed, floor (or maybe round, I forget) is only used on the final number.

Also, waste is rounded, not rounded up. A waste of 0.49 is rounded to 0, not 1. CCP promised to fix that with Trinity 1.1, but as expected that didn't happen...

As normal my maths is very poor xD and the numbers do work out nicely with 0.625
but just to confirm. to work out the exact wastage its;
1/ML+1 or in the case of a ML30 bpo... 1/31 = 0.3225%
is that right? my dyslexia really does bugger me on up working out things using deviding xD
Anyway, Thank you all for your help ^_^ was dearly needed =D ------------------------SiG-------------------- No Stealing My SiG!, This SiG is protected by the Supreme Interactive Guard. All HiJack Attempts will Fail! HAIL ZIM PUNY HUMAN ME |

Your answer is correct. You should put parentheses in your formula, but you did the math right.

Edited by: Artmedis Valben on 02/04/2008 06:12:18 you start with 10% (or 0,1) waste at ME0 Me1 = 5% Me2 = 3,33% Me3 = 2,5% Me4 = 2% Me5 = 1,67% Me6 = 1,43% Me7 = 1,25% Me8 = 1,11% Me9 = 1% Me10 = 0,91% Me15 = 0,63% Me20 = 0,48% Me25 = 0,38% Me30 = 0,32% Me40 = 0,24% Me50 = 0,20% Me75 = 0,13% Me100 = 0,10% Me150 = 0,07% Me200 = 0,05% Me500 = 0,02% Me1000 = 0,01%
The Excel Formula is: =ROUND((ROUND(ME0/1,1;0))*(1+(0,1/(1+ME))*#RUNS);0)
After Trinity 1,2: =ROUNDUP((ROUND(ME0/1,1;0))*(1+(0,1/(1+ME))*#RUNS);0)
Another way is simply 1 unit wasted per (1+ME)*10 units used at ME0/1,1
