I'm pretty sure the amount of storyline within those alliances (and other player entities, not excluding the Amarr/Minmatar and Gallente/Caldari rp for example) is a serious contender against the CCP guided storyline.
After getting positive feedback on my small overview of the Fountain situation, created for the benefit of those new to the game or never heard of Fountain happenings, I began to get more ambitous.
As I stated a couple of times in my thread, this was not to be the "definitive history of Fountain". However...
We are now nearly a year into release. The official storyline has moved with glacial speed.
The unofficial storyline of alliances and player factions, both territorial (SA, CA, FA etc etc etc) and non (CVA, Minmatars, Lame Ducks) however has been frantic with actions, deceits, rebellions, splits, mergers and what not.
So my proposal is roughly thus:
1. Corporations/alliances do an in-house check on who are the most knowledgeable about their histories.
2. A skeleton of the factions/regions history is put together.
3. The representatives start to put meat on the skeleton.
4. The skeleton with meat on it is presented to the wider population, more people can now provide more feedback (putting "clothes" on the entity forming).
5. The story is released after a review of editor(s).
The only way to make this really work is with people actually providing information, such as has been done in the above mentioned Fountain thread. Corporations revealing some of their dirty laundry etc etc.
This also requires some sort of editors overseeing the final versions, amending obvious bias and removing flames. These would have to be people willing to read the fair amount of text this could provide over and over again, and also be capable of being "pretty" neutral (you can never be "completely" so lets not kid ourselves).
Personally I could continue the Fountain saga by using material provided to me by others, stories from the m0o/Rus/Sin invasions (my memory is murky from that time) etc etc.
Anyone interested? It's just a game but a damn good one and this project could provide invaluable to give information to new/returning players.

Riddari; I've been reading about the insanity that is the FA Conflict all week. I've even started copying the threads (skipping the flames and OOC stuff). If you are really interested in putting together a collective history of the Eve universe, I'd be more than willing to help out.

I have been approached by some people who wish to provide material but not be known.
As the self-appointed editor for the Fountain part (to begin with at least) I will respect the anomity of my sources. I will have to use my judgement when reviewing the material, so if you approach me with a 2-week old alt your material could be in danger of being found dubious.
If you approach me with your main the material will gain higher status and be more likely for inclusion. I will not reveal sources, now or ever.

Been on the edges of a lot of stuff, and paid attention to current events from the start of april 2003 at least, not really involved in any worldshaking stuff tho  I could possibly help with the editing.
Great idea and initiative btw.

You definently got my hand.
I've been in Endless for a while :) and we saw some fun things. (such as formation of CA from the outside)
also was part of the championships with some corpmates..
