Lo all, i got an idea and ill tell you how it came about also. I was warping to a belt at 60km, scouting for a bs spawn. By the time it had loaded everything up, i was dead. Im sure im not the only person to have had this happen, so why not get something done about it? One idea could be to have a timer on the time for npc rats to target you, maybe have a long target time on rats and an equally long time for them to target you, or even have a timer before they can target you. This would mean players at a belt could still kill you but thats ok, thay are allowed to do so. This would solve the lag problems, even though i have cable, it still takes a long time to load everything up. I mean, if it was a battleship i had lost and not a scout, i would have been really really annoyed. What do you think? a timer to be implamented on the rats? Thx for reading, hope to get something done about this, even if its not the idea i had.

Im not bashing you PC or anything, but how long does it load?
For me its not lagging anything, at most a couple secs. But the fact is
1. first they need to respond to your presence
2. And lock, 5-10 sec?
3. Fire and kill you (20-30 sek)
So how long does it realy take to "load" (or render) the belt when you jump in?
Its not eve's fault if you got a to slow system...

Ive got a 2.2Ghz system, 1GB RAM and a GeForce FX 5600 and when there is like 8 NPCs in a roidfield it freezes for about 5-10 seconds before I get out of warp. When Im out though there is no lag what so ever... |

I have a Dual 1.8ghz Xeon w/ 512MB PC400 RDRAM on a slow 640/384 wireless link and I don't lag at all when I jump into belts filled with pirates or players..
