hi i just signed up and deposited 250m, i won 1 prize (ishtar) and refunded it to blink credit, besides that i did not won anything else.
i wanted to get a naga so i tried to bet on it, as you can see on SS i didn't get any. a lot of gambling and no luck ?
the sole reason i tried it was cos of the positive comments on forums here, and with 20% tax you take of every blink played i was thinking i was gonna lose around 20-50% of my isk deposited, but i lost all.

Hi gelender, first of all welcome to Blink.
Secondly all I can say is you are extremely unlucky in this case. I can see you tried many times to win a Naga and unfortunately it did not happen for you. It is not uncommon to see losing streaks like yours, I myself have had some big losing streaks, as have a lot of people. On the other hand, I and many other people have had some large winning streaks, its purely statistical.
The thing is that Somer uses a site called random.org to produce the random numbers for blink. This is probably one of the only websites that can produce a truly random number.
While I can sympathise with you for not winning please dont think there is someone preventing you from winning, it is purely unlucky or lucky for every single player.
People will always try and say a system is rigged but in this case it isn't. Dont listen to those that say it is, Somer has always been open about the code she uses on the site and you will not meet a more professional corporation in Eve.
All I can say is if you can afford it, continue to blink, your time will come trust me. However if you cant afford it, please gamble responsibly and most of all have fun!

Gelender, Somer is like any other gambling, you will lose more than you win. This is why it is operated, to make a profit for the owners. If you are trying to use blink as a way to make ISK, that is a bad plan. If you use blink as a fun way to spend some extra ISK you have laying around, with an outside chance that you may make some more ISK, that is the way to do it. Just like in Vegas, the house always wins. Play for fun, not for profit. |

yes ofc, as i said was planning to lose 20-50% of my deposit, but it all melted in a short time , anyways i had another go with it this time with 400 mil, had 2 winnings worth around 350mil, refunded it to credit and lost all again 
although i must say gambling was never for me, never had luck at it. even with best chances to win i lose
so imo when you have 1bil isk to toss away, blink just might be a good way to do it, its a good 30-40 min of gambling

Would like to suggest an idea for blink.
You know how we have random for creating the blink. I would love the random button for just choosing a slot on any blink, also i would love it on promo's so im not having to scroll like crazy to find a slot all the time during the celebrations. Id be ok with just any random slot. |

150 T is coming, two things I'd like to see implemented.
1 - A get ticket or random ticket (as suggested in the above post) for promos, which just gives you an available ticket. Some people, like me, have a slow computer, that sometimes doesn't handle having Eve, and work stuff, and emails, and Blink with it's nice flash or whatever it is, opened at the same time. So I have missed so many promos during celebrations because I am there when they happen, but by the time I choose a ticket it's already taken, and by the time I want to choose another one, the promo is gone. I don't think many people would be against the idea of having a Promo Blink buton, you click it and it assigns you a random ticket.
2 - Having the possibility to click on the portraits of the winners (for the bonk, mini bonks) so that we can see their profile. It's working with everything, promos, gigablinks, normal blinks. It should be available for the celebration wins too. |

We don't have any facility in place to decide who is or isn't a scammer-- it's not really something you can track.
Referral codes are available to anyone with a Blink account, which is a lot of people. We don't "let" anyone do referral advertising-- they just do it on their own, and we can't exactly mute them out of Local :P
We do require that they not spam their referral codes in Local, so if you can PM me with a piece of chatlog I can at least remove their referral code.

Sorry for that guy who got bit by a dog scammer who grabbed onto a well run outfit like Somer Blink. I suggest next time you check out what a promo code really means.
Anyone who has questions about Somer Blink can log onto the channel "SOMER Lotteries" and get the real story.
Frankly, I was hesitant - this is eve and Somer is player run - so I went in with almost nothing and watched for a while to see how it all worked before I ever placed a single ISK in jeopardy. They have so many things going on. Somehow, tokens get built up, thousands of them and several times a day, maybe even hourly - it varies - they have a "Promo" go up which may have a Moros, or a mach or a titan skillbook as the prize and it costs you one token to buy the one ticket you can buy and around 200 ppl have a chance at getting the random number generated ticket. The winning ticket number is generated by third party "Random number .com" I believe it is called - which provides numbers for a wide array of internet activities which need impartial thrid party number generation.
The staff is very helpful in the channel I mentioned above.
They have a feature called "awards" where you win bonus ISK for meeting the requirement for the award. such as " recurring nightmare" where you get a bunch a millions for winning your fifth nightmare - which sounds a lot more difficulet than it is.
I am writing this from the in game browser and blink runs from there too. and because CCP's so wacky on their forums, I'm not changing back and forth to get the exact number of millions you get from the awards, but it ranges from 1 million to I think 1.5 billion - if that is how much 1500 millions equals.
It is gambling, more will lose than will win - but you control more of this gambling than you do on any of the continents in the world I've gambled on. Most ships have 8 tickets and a good many of the blinks have 5 tickets totalling less than the amount Somer will buy the ship back for.
I keep the ships I win with one ticket and sell back the rest to Somer - I've increased my fleet by 86 ships but sold most of them, keeping 6 nightmares, 8 bhaals and 11 Machs which I all won for a single ticket for a rainy day. A single ticket on a nightmare is 78mil. There is a stats page which gives you information on the frequency of the recent winning numbers and that can be helpful if you believe in things like statistical probability. It does not just give you a few numbers but well enough to provide a database where the sample is large enough to provide rudimentary reliability.
But remember, it is gambling and no matter how many times you flip a coiin, the coin does not remember how it landed last time and does not care how it lands next time. Random number generators care even less than coins.
I wish these guys would buy out CCP. |
