I was into exploration a year ago, left it and now picked it up again. What I seem to notice then I notice again: it looks like the same systems respawn the same kind of sites again and again. I am now keeping track of systems I scan and what I find there, but I wonder if some1 has done this already and can either conform or deny this (premature?) conclusion.
Also I am curious on when and with what interval these sites respawn. Is this the same for all sites? Are there different intervals for different sites?
Also I wonder about the value Archeo sites. Sofar I have found only salvage items, mostly the cheaper items, once a more valuable item. Mind, I mine in lower Empire and occasionally lo-sec. Radar sites seem to be the only worthwhile sites, since I am not into mining Gravi sites hold no interest to me and I have yet to find LADAR sites.
If these questions have been adressed somewhere please point me there; I could not find anything in the topics I found, hence this topic.

As I understand it, exploration sites spawn across constellations. When an exploration site in system A is taken down then another of the same type spawns somewhere in that constellation. It may re-spawn in the same system.
Since CCP hasn't really explained this (that I'm aware of) this has come mostly through observations of those who explore a lot.
As far as loot goes in these sites, the lower the security rating the better the loot is for all sites. It sounds like maybe you are doing high sec. exploration from your description of the loot.

It is 100% not constellation based. I scan out whole sections of 0.0 - 2-3 constellations in one night.
Sometimes I'll get 5 radar sites - othertimes I'll get 0.
It *may* be region based - but I suspect its completely universe based.

There was a Dev post recently which said the will respawn in same sec range, same soveriegnty (in empire). So, if you despawn a hi sec angel site, itll respawn somewhere in hi sec angel space.

It is definitely not constellation based, or you would never probe down every system in a constellation only to find them all empty.
A recent dev post hinted that they spawn somewhere inside the current 'block' which encompasses a lot of systems sharing a similar sec stats - unfortunately we don't know how big that block is.
