How about making drones not have the ability to bash around our ships out of alignment no matter the size of said ships?
These things are the size of the period at the end of this sentence, yet they make huge ships swirl around as they leave and return to them.

I didn't know this was possible as corpses and (presumably?) drones were made immaterial--do you mean specifically a captial ship swarmed in drones can't align or a subcapital?

I think only abandoned drones, as any other drones which are attacking you are orbiting you, therefore not bumping you. I can vouch for this because a corpmate smartbombed one of my drones because he couldn't move to warp. Thankfully it was a t1 drone.
/signed, in a small way. While it would be a bit weird for a drone to go inside a ship (if you made it so they were unbumpable), it is really silly for a massive ship to be blocked by a drone the size of a man(?)

I actually got stuck on my own drone once. After cans and wrecks were made passable. This was in a dominix, and I was charging my second target. It cost me the kill because I couldn't close range

My domi gets bumped pretty bad sometimes when my heavies are returning to bay. Pretty dangerous in the wrong situation.

All drones should be immaterial (as wrecks, cans, corpses).
For orbiting drones not bumping you, they still can, if your ship ever gets faster than the drone, it happened many times with ishtar and heavies, even with deimos and med drones.
Also, there are drone bumping tactics, you keep at range your ennemy at the drones orbit range and they bump your ennemy out of alignement, which is I guess not the intended use of drones!
In large battles, so many drones are lost (ship destroyed, drone deactivated) that when flying around in a fast ship, you sometimes get bumped by drones you didn't see, it's annoying...
And one last point which always help is that it will make less bumping calculations for the server!
