Content or fixes? Which one do you feel is needed to keep players going in eve?
Pleas voice you opinion and why
Me I feel there needs to be more content so the game gets more complex that adds more multiplicity PVP, variety and interesting pursuits to playing eve. That will keep me going ****ing off society one dumba$$ at a time |

Both. Fixes because players would get frustrated and quit. Content because players would get bored and quit.
Fixes have (and should) always been the biggest priority but content keeps players around.

Edited by: Serge Tahlon on 16/04/2004 22:59:12 Edited by: Serge Tahlon on 16/04/2004 22:57:18 i believe it is content. in the form of more items/ships/shiva and even more importantly news items and happenings throughout the eve universe.
i always find it hard to believe that all that happened in the eve universe within 2 days is a chip crazed senator :)
i think what eve needs is regional events. like systems being closed to quarantine, an amok running concord captain, accidents in stations causing them to be partially unsuable until repaired, war between factions, sporting events, social events like the quafe ultra launch turned ugly and more immersive events that acctually effect me as a player.
right now, i wonder how this chip craze has an impact on my gameplay .. it doesnt .. also it would make the billboards acctually usefull and probably make up for them being in the way at times on gate approaches :)
edit: edit because it is early and the coffee hasnt kicked in yet :D ~~ signatures ?! all they do is wasteing space... ~~ |

More sidetrack news, some mere fluff, some holding a little grain of something not tied into the big picture as to keep people guessing what's going on and where, right now it's too linear, like a story told from beginning to end but that's never how things happen, that's only how we remember them.

I'd be willing to forsake a bit of content for a big push to eradicate long-term bugs.

content and fixes should be balanced most of the time... except when some big bug is ruining the game for everybady ofcourse but that's what hot fixes are for
currently recruiting euro players. |

so today I'm in a 0.3 and I'm just killing time chain spawning Caracals and their kestrel wing men. I'm firing away and kill like 5 spawns before they start to drop like crazy. this is exactly what i wanted so unload and start racking up isk, accept randomly one of my guns doesn't shoot and it says that i need 95% powergrid like what happens almost always when i undock.
SO my vote is fixes and to stop adding new stuff when not needed or when it isn't broken since they obviously can't make things run smoothly no matter how much time they get (how far past their own dead line are we?)
And the plots are not very interesting anyways, the formula is always the same, something happens to draw people together and then npcs attack, something blows up and nothing changes :D it's the typical pitfall of bad Story telling.

Agreed. The people who have been here a long time have been infinitely patient to see certain bugs fixed for many months. Watching them be ignored while cranial chips get a handful of attention is really disappointing. Please fix the long standing bugs CCP... like labs unrenting themselves!

Where have you been? We're MMORPG players. We not only want our cake and to be able to eat it, we want that cake at the perfect sweetness, perfectly moist, AND we want the recipe!

Now CCP, go fetch me mah cake!

The fact is no one will ever be happy, there will be always some of us moaning. I'll just keep plodding along as I do now. I really enjoy the game but are really looking forward to blowing up the new player structures Finally gives us something to do other than killing for killings sake,
Bug fixes really is high up on my wish list for things to do, I only wish they would stop moving the goalposts in such vital areas such as combat. Although that is good as it forces us to adapt new strategies. Its also bad as there sometimes is no need for it. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
Just my two cents...

My big hate is that my drones, a year into the game, still dont show me when they are damaged, and still dont obey their own range. Not only this but instead of fixing them, CCP has decided to just Nerf them.
Get a few of the long standing bugs fixed (why do I have to repackage my drones for repairs to take effect still??) THEN add more content.

I would take content any day now. In the beggining, fixes were a major priority. The game is much smoother these days but the content has gotten even less attention. I think the problem is in trying to keep the pvp and non-pvp crowds happy. In my own personal opinion. I wouldn't mind having some race wars going on.

More like a challenge ;)
Originally by: cashman It's time for Eris to get a clue. CCP should make a statement about this.
It's the exact same things as what Zombie did, you may not attack in "safe-areas" (empire/within sentry range) without loosing your ship.

I want to see the sec rating issue resolved. I'm very close to turning into nothing more than a petty griefer because I can't raise my sec enough to enter 1.0 and play the game properly via sanctioned wars. TBH I'd rather just lose CCP the money from my account, petty ganking is a fairly unfulfilling activity wrt. PvP.
It's only -3.3 ffs and I've been NPC ganking since castor
