I was just hanging out in jita selling crap when I see someone advertising a CNR for 440 mil. Old scam I thought, I'll try to offer him 4.5 mil for the raven. Before I can put any money in he clicks accept and I get a free raven. After a short chat with him I find out that he had been scammed 10 minutes earlier and was just trying to get his money back by scamming someone else. He tells me to try to sell it in local again, 10 minutes later and i'm 420 million richer.
How the hell do people fall for these scams so easily... Then again, I also thought I had gotten a free CNR at first. CCP should do something about ship names in trade windows.

i really don't know
i learned my lesson in another game where it was even more sketchy as you could change the items around, and would go from max stats class specific item to a min stat no spec item 
imaging showing info seeing the cnr putting the isk in and then trade and its a raven that you get (although at least you might see the colour change)

and i was the one who got scammed and then pressed accept before metal offered money funny thing is that it took a while before metal realised it was only a raven that he got for free... i must say im broke now only got 3 mill but as i say its sad but still funny.

The scammed scammer who scams himself! As I post this the last person who got scammed is trying to sell it off in jita as a CNR yet again.

funny thing is that it took a while before starseeker realised it was only a raven that he got for free...
anyways we chatted had a laugh and scammed another one, same ship!!!
he also took a while to realise it wasnt a CNR.
i know about the colour now and to look at description in the info not just the name but its a pretty harsh lesson im broke now 3 mill from 443 mill and no way of getting my isks back for a long time.. sad but still funny 
Ahh, it won't take that long. In a few days, you'll be in a drake and then you're earning fast enough that you'll be back when you were in a couple of weeks.
BTW CNRs are a pretty poor way to cash in your LPs.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
