I noticed on the mega a guy with 3 types of blasters beside eachother, electron ion and neutron, they looked completely different then eachother on the ship so why do blasters and auto's and arty etc. all look the same on the info pic (depending on size ofcourse), same with moduals, we have all these different items but they all feel the same. Change it to correspond with it's actual appearence for those that don't follow that path already, and faction items could look a little cooler

Edited by: Dirk Magnum on 04/04/2008 05:02:24 The sole purpose of the icon is to give you a visual reference in your assets hangar for organizational purposes. Making each module have a unique icon would just complicate things, and add something that, tbch I never thought anyone actually cared about.
However, someone once made a good suggestion, with graphics, about a better way of labeling modules. Instead of just having a T2 sticker on T2 icons, list every item's meta level in the upper right corner and have a separate sticker for T2, faction, deadspace, or officer in the upper left corner of the icon. Different colors to. It was all a very well put-together presentation although I don't remember the name of the thread to search for it at this point.

well on the item pics all the blasters look like neutrons, but in reality ion and electron are different, i always find myself accidently fitting a tech 2 ion insted of my neutron and finding out later on a killmail final blow being my ion blaster 2 lol, also it would just help the games feel of how many items we really have.

Ohh. Okay. Quick question. If I log on and search your corporate history is it going to say Imperial Academy - less than a day?
Nah just messing with you. Besides you'll get better with managing items. Try the different hangar display options as well, since some display options minimize the icons and lets you focus on the names more clearly. Also be sure to right click - organize by type, which will link like modules together, and stack them if they are packaged.

"My main is more experienced" is this year's "lol guys don't flame me I was only messing around to see how you'd react."

That's actually not a bad idea. That'd make picking and choosing what named loot to reprocess and what loot to sell a helluva lot easier...
