From my game experience i can tell for sure that in fights i haven't yet met a carebear who would unplug the network cable forcing a disconnection. Unfortunately i can't say the same of some pirates...

This may be a while. Seriously, what is wrong with these people? 
Unfortunatly, some people take this game to seriously and forget that it is still only a game. I've seen alot of smacktalk but I never respond to local smacktalk.. I do talk to people that wants to find out my fittings or want to talk about pvp stuff. Just ignore the smacktalk.

If it were up to the vast majority of pirates who bothered to post on a regular basis here, there would be a little pop-up window any time a target showed up asking whether or not to instantly pod said target.
It's the non-posting minority I'm worried about ;)
As for the smacktalk - it is actually a sign that you have power over them. They wouldn't go to such effort unless they were trying to prove their uberleetness, which they obviously lack. I would suggest getting some partners in crime though, so that you can truly embarrass them.
I can't believe people are dumb enough to smack like that though. I generally fall into the category of discussion, or at least a congratulation. You died, woot, no amount of *****ing in local will bring your ship back.

Dont trust anyone.
Carebears are the worst kind of player. Greedy, selfish, in it for themselves and disloyal. Not one alliance ive been in with carebears has ever by choice left there ratting spots to defend there alliance (not that ive met) most just want to use you.
Find a way to kill them bud and keep at it, soon you'll learn to love those mails and tears.
A Carebears tears are rather like a tasty desert after the slaugter. Enjoy them

You've been in some crap Alliances then I'm guessing, with weaksauce rules. Any decent 0.0 Alliance will have EVERYONE x-up, even if it's just Rooks and Osprey (rreppers).

Ya see, I hate posting on topics like this, because I'm a low playtime player and I don't feel like dodging wardecs from every two-bit wanna-pir8, but you know what, I hate most carebears too.
And I'm a carebear.
Here's why though: They're going about this all wrong. It doesn't take a genius or a forum ***** like me to figure out, really quick, that pirates and wanna-pirates get a hardon over not killing carebears, but making them squeal.
So why the hell give the pirates the satisfaction?
Seriously, I'm all about denying you guys your satisfaction when you catch me. If you blow me up, I podwarp quietly and sans smack. If you get my pod, I pay up another and go about my business. If you smack, the only one that hears you is the asteroids, because I ain't going to give you no love. I want your balls to be 12 differant shades of blue. If I jump into your camp, I simply charge back to the gate and leave, and go do something else. Minimize risk, don't give the 'rats any easy kills. Your frustration and lack of my name on killmails, is my fine and sweet wine that I savor, just like you guys get drunk on pubbie carebear tears.
But here's the catch -- I don't go flying around lowsec, looking to bait pirates and bail out, i.e., I don't invite conflict. These stupid carebears, they can't take their losses and STFU, and improve. No, they bleat like sheep. I see it in local all the freaking time and I'm like dude, WTF are you idiots going on about?

Yeah, but after you get past the cute candy coating of the whole sandbox game thing, there's the bitter, ugly, and strangely satisfying reality of it. EVE is harsh, no two ways about it. At some point, the harshness will visit you, even in highsec.
Deluded fools who can't see the reality are the part of the game I really don't enjoy. And more often than not, those fools are the carebears who scream at the top of their lungs about the injustice and inhumanity of it all when their ship gets blown up.
Dude.
It's a game.
In space.
About spaceships that get blown up.
A lot.

These are human problems, do not blame the game style of some players.

To put it straight, there are exceptions, but generalization is a healthy thing.You are what you are, and you tend to "have fun" in your own way, having the love for adrenaline , and risk like ye` old pirate or the love for "assets", and having MHOAR than the other guy.Thus the care-bear has spawned.
In his natural habitat, there is no risk, and concord hugs him whenever he kills another NPC battleship.He gets and warm and fuzzy when Scotty the docking manager says hello, and talks with pride about his tanking abilities when he goes out for a bear with the mates.

not forgetting ofc that pirates can be just has happy getting blown up in suicide runs or boredom attacks - i did this a while ago at a gate in hurricane.
pirate works for profit - but most pirates do it for fun.

yes and i loooong for the days when eve was risky and every jump could be a drama - that feeling of crawling to the gate 15km away is something i will always miss

Alot of carebears forget that its the journey not the destination, that ship we blew up that cost you all that RL time was lost anyway, all that time and effort was taken by yourself when you deicded to dedicate yourself, not us. the final destination of eve is quitting, so nothing you own in eve matters anyway :)

Please don't lump all so called carebears in one lump :)
Most are the coolest people IMO, personaly, I'm a loner, and can not realy say what else I am in EVE.
I still like talking to people and if these guys are smack talking then that is lame unless they are trying to be funny or something, I'm sure they are just trying to scare you.
