I think the title says it all.
I am a dedicated Amarr pilot, yet in my fleet of ships, I have to keep that one damn Gallente Imicus for scanning because of it's "5% reduction to duration/activation time of modules requiring Astrometrics per level".
Is there something I'm missing? I know I could use the Crucifier, but I'm inclined to keep the ship dedicated to it's purpose, and for that, I need that bonus. Every other Racial Class of ship has a bonus - why not Amarr?

Well. We're missing one frigate so... I don't know why (but I suspect that given the poor CPU value of Amarrian boats they just gave up on designing an Amarr-ish version. The other astrometrics frigates are tight enough on CPU as it is), and personally I don't really care as training credible scanning skills takes quite a bit of time anyway and it's not that tough to train up for an Anathema.

You've got that right. I'm in the midst of the final 20 days of my 25 day Scanning Plan, and I'm happy to say that I've already gotten the skills I need to 'test the waters' with scanning. I've even had some relative success doing it, as well!
I'm sticking to hisec scanning for now, however, the Anathema is one nice ship as well. I'd be excited to fly it around in losec with that Covert Ops Cloak II on it.

One of the devs (Zulupark, perhaps?) mentioned it in the last live dev blog. Basically they decided it's a shame that the awesome magnate model is basically not used any more - and since the gold and silver are 'variations' of a magnate, there ought to be a standard magnate that they're based off. Couple with this the knowledge of Amarr's missing (astrometrics) frigate and voila.
So they definitely said they are likely to add some form of Magnate as the 6th Amarr frigate in the future, and I'm pretty sure they implied it would get the Astrometrics bonus.

That's awesome. I'm getting tired of looking at the "fat man on crutches" that is currently my scanning ship!
