If you can't log back in, file a stuck petition and have yourself moved out of the system.

I have been to Jita only once or twice. I cant remember the name of the station. I have not had any problems with lag or the game locking up. Is there a particular place in the system which everyone is speaking of where you get stuck?

seeing as Jita can, and will have upwards of 900 players at a time, it's not too hard to imagine getting stuck.
when did you go to Jita? the population varies strongly depending on time of day and weekday, with evenings and weekends being the most populated

Lord, I usually play in the AM hours (PST). When I do go to Jita, I have never seen more than 500 in local. Even then I get no lag.
